How to fix it (Coaching)

the offense obliterated the Falcons JUST LAST WEEK.

That's a bit of a stretch don't you think. In fact, in light of what the Patriots did, it looked pretty pedestrian. I mean really, 2 TD's and 2 FG's against a fairly weak/average defense is nothing to be bragging about.

Sorry but I just think other teams have figured Davidson out.

That is not to say I lay all the blame at his feet. There may be factors I am not aware of that limit his options--namely Jake's play since the Arizona game.

We had five yards fewer total offense than New England did lol.

If you could get 12 wins out of these guys last year, why can't they seem to even win a coin toss this year?

That makes me point to the coaches. They blow it on offense, defense and special teams in spectacular ways. It's going to be the coaches that have to pull this thing back together.

But more importantly, we had fewer points. Granted, some of that falls on the defenses shoulders as they couldn't get Atlanta off the field like the Patriots did but regardless, the bottom line is Atlanta has a pretty weak defense so 2 TD's and 2 FG's is nothing to be proud off.

Agreed but while I like fox and appreciate everything he has done for the Panthers--and he has done a tremendous amount--I just don;t have faith in him as teh HC any longer.

Look at Coughlin: He was fired at Jacksonville after going 8,6 and 6 his last three years there but yet he takes the Giants to the SB only a couple of years later. Sometimes, people just get in a rut that they can't get out of and the only "fix" are new surroundings. Sorry to say but I am afraid that is what has happened to Fox.

It was more like.

Deangelo Williams fumbles ball; kills drive.

Jake Delhomme throws interception; kills drive.

We moved the ball fine, but when you turn it over and kill scoring drives you can't score points.

This basic lesson in football has been brought to you by Prescott Pharmaceuticals.

Jake's int was on a 4th down wand it wasn't so much a mistake as it was that there just wasn't anywhere else to go. Even if he hadn't thrown the int, they would have lost the ball on downs.

Williams did fumble but I believe Atlanta had two turnovers as well. The difference is Atlanta turned the turnovers into points were the Panthers didn't.

I bet I could play Madden from the booth and call the Off. plays on-field during a game based on success of each Madden play, and still do a better job than our coaches. Prolly win too.

Fox has fired or run off every major coordinator at some point during his tenure and look who is left. Henning was fired. Scotty O'Brian left, Del Rio left, Turgo left,....in comes Davidson, Crossman and Meeks. Fox has nobody else to blame.

In an unrelated comment...I almost crapped when we ran a draw on 3rd and 17 and actually converted it. Of course Jake threw a pick right after that but I'm sure the old silver Fox was delighted with that touch of genius.

I know full well that replacing a QB and a Coach sets a team back at least two years but I think its time for Fox to go. No not right now but at the end of the season. Anyone who has watched the NFL for a while knows that if a Coach starts to forfeit his draft picks to win right now there is a problem and he is just putting gum on the damn and hoping to keep his job. The fact is most of the time it never works and I dont think this will be an exception. I am as of now preparing to face the fact we will see a new system and coach real soon.
