Seborrheic Dermatitis

I'm self diagnosing here but it looks like I may have seborrheic dermatitis. I've had dandruff most of my life but lately it's been worse. I have a redness on my scalp and severe dandruff. Has anyone dealt with this before? Any remedies? It's annoying and embarrassing and has worsened over the last few months.

May not be that, i had similar symptoms and thought the same thing. Turned out I just had a severely dry and sensitive scalp. And it got worse when the weather changed or humidity changed. Doctor recomended several different shampoos but one common ingredient is tea-tree oil. Its the best, really massage it into your scalp and your scalp with start to tingle. But i have used that for a year now and no longer have those problems. And fyi head and shoulders sucks and just makes things worse

What shampoo do you use? Besides the obvious t gel or selsun blue.  Try tea trea oil and drink green tea.

But we can build on that.

How is your water consumption daily?

I have a pretty healthy diet but I drink on the weekends. I take in about 2 gallons of water a day on lifting days (6 days a week) so I sweat a lot.  I use T Gel and it seems to work a little. I forgot the name of my everyday shampoo but maybe I should switch it up. Any recommendations?

Also how often do you eat avocados or celery or cucumbers? Great skin foods right there.

Pay attention to what you eat and drink because they may not be inherently bad, but for whatever reason your body just may have an allergic reaction and skin flares is a common signiof that.

Any high quality shampoo w tea tree is worth a look.

Just cut back and see if you notice any changes.  May be 1 particular beer or liquor that flares you up.

Check is in the mail right? Lol

year 2 med student- we literally just learned about this, if you're worried about it just go see a doc

but a couple questions- is it on your nasolabial folds? Have you tried rubbing selsum blue on it? How warm is the water when you shower? What kind of shampoo do you use?

Negative on nasolabial. Yes. Warm to hot lol IDK.  Attached pics of shampoos. Clear is my everyday but doesn't seem to be working.

try cutting down on the hot water to just see if that helps, that can exacerbate dry skin.

Again I would see a doctor if you are worried about it- the tea tree oil won't hurt. Keeping your face/head clean helps too. I'm sorry you dealing with that and I hope it gets better soon!

419jcnxqTnL.jpgWhen I lived up north for a couple of years I had a very itchy scalp and used a medication called Scalpicin.  At the same time I was also constantly battling sinus congestion and snorting dristan - unfortunalely the two bottle were the same size and shape - one day hoping to clear my nasal cavities I took a healthy snort of scapicin.  Holy Fug was that a mistake.

    • I have said if you out even an average QB into the offense we are averaging 25+ points a game. But that will never happen with Bryce under center.
    • The defense is 28 out of 32 in salary cap allocation for 2025. We have a ton of resources tied up in the offense including the highest paid OL in the league multiple 1st round WR's and multiple recent draft picks across the offense at TE and RB and we have two 1000 yard backs. Bryce and company couldn't get past Tyler Shough and his crew in 2 games. That's all there is to it. You can spin it and put the entire onus on the defense to your heart's desire it doesn't change the fact that this is an OFFENSIVE team now. If you want to argue that we should revert back to a defensive identity as we have been in the past which has brought us success then I will agree with you on that. But as it stands the onus is on the offense because that is where we have invested through the nose. Dave Canales and Bryce Young need to do a hell of a lot better than they have against the rebuilding Saints who without us should only have 2 wins this season.
    • Bryce is not trending up. He is the same QB he has always been. Bottom of the league in most categories.  If Canales thinks he can build a contender with Bryce then he is a bigger idiot then I thought.  Offense next year will have the same issues and be just as inconsistent as it was this year.  We have seen Bryce’a ceiling and it is 175 yards a game and that is not a QB you keep around as your starter. That is barely a backup.
