Sorry for your loss. Stories like this make me think of my own dog's mortality though I joke she'll live forever. Pretty sure it'll break me when her time is up.

Again, sorry for your loss. I think in these times all you can think about is how you gave her the best life you could and that's all that matters in the end. If she loved her life (and it sounds like she did), you did your job as her owner.

My dog.  She was a rescue...dalmatian mix. Got her when she was about 1 1/2 yrs old. Had her for about 10. Had a  rare untreatable cranial bone tumor. I had been sleeping with her on the sofa the last couple of weeks.  Thought I would have to put her down.  Daily decision but I knew the end was near for her with quality of life vs distress. As long as she was eating, in no obvious pain, getting around some, and enjoyed my company, i.e. petting...we were hanging on.  Last night, I thought today might be the day.  Then she rallied a bit.  Something woke me in the middle of the night. She was in a deep sleep (and irregular breathing)  and then died.  She was laying on the blanket she loved on the sofa she loved with me petting her.

She was a good girl. It took me a while but I buried her where she could look over the property she loved to roam and the house that was her home.

She is survived by her friend Max (a terrier mix) ..one cat Annie....and her loving owner.

I never post anymore, but I'll do so for this. Losing a pet is hard. Sorry to hear
