How can anyone seriously defend Jake? It's not the turnovers that kill me its the fact that he can't hit the broad side of a barn with a pass. His accuracy is TERRIBLE, his arm strength is TERRIBLE and most of all he stares down his target so bad the opposing defense know where the ball is going every single pass. I am so tired of people defending the guy, plain and simple he sucks as much as any quarterback in the history of the NFL has sucked and with our running game the QB here should be putting up 350 yards a game passing. The opposing teams are daring us to throw the ball and he can not do it. That is all I need to know that the guy sucks the big one.

Its funny when people try to say the fumbles and throws werent his fault. One thing that del doesn't do that contributes to the fumbles and air throws is he never steps in the pocket. Seriously watch tape of him and all the throws that hang to long or all the sacks ffs are when he refuses to step back in the pocket. You guys notice when our de's always run around and barely get a hand on a qb its because the qb knows to step up in the pocket after a 3 or 5 step drop. Jake refuses and therefore its a automatic sack or fumble and on the throws he doesn't step in and plant his foot. All that talk of dodge stuff at tcamp didn't do a thing but make delhomme worse. Im black and don't like stereotypes but when this one black dude at my job said black folk gonna stop buying chickin I had to laugh. If you are white you cant tell that joke lol. Anyways lookn foward to tony pike at the top of round 2!

Jake played terrible against Philly....he was good against Atlanta....he was mediocre against Dallas.

However, jake is not the reason the offense is struggling. That award goes to the Offensive Line. They are getting no push in run blocking and can't seem to block any blitz in pass protection.

Awesome. Can't wait for more Jake/ hopelessness.

Fox knows what we know. This is his last year. Starting Moore is what's best for the team - gives us some hope, motivates the players, builds for the future, etc.

It's just not what's best for him. He won't be part of building for the future when there is no future for him.

How does playing Moore:

A)Give hope? In the 3 games Moore played in 07, he was average at best and crap against Dallas(no shocker, they had seen him) with a playbook that would be simple even by high school standards. He has been awful since, in both preseason and the regular season.

B)Motivate players? Bringing in a guy who cant beat out Josh McCown or AJ Feely for the 2nd string and who the coaching staff refuses to bring in unless its a last resort(understandable, considering he has looked awful in both the preseason and regular season when he has got a chance, since 2007).

C)Build for the future? Moore isnt a starter in the NFL, on a bad team he might be a 2nd stringer, but more than likely he is destined to be a career 3rd string QB. He has little talent and even less upside/potential. He was average in college and for a long time was hated by Oregon State fans because of his poor play(including fans/boosters calling for the coaches job if Moore continued to start IIRC). The kid has a meh arm and poor accuracy, and went undrafted for a reason. He simply isnt very good.

    • Was just reading the Ask the Old Guy story on the team's website and was shocked to see that only two 2nd Rounders have signed so far, 30 of them haven't. That isn't normal, the Texans really screwed things up for the rest of the league, no other explanation that I can think of for 30 of the 32 picks to still be unsigned at this point.
    • They need to address CB before season starts. This is not going to cut it.
    • Except it wouldn't be Rodgers leading them on a postseason run, it would be the defense and he's there to not screw up their great games. Which is why..... This times a million. I didn't watch a ton of the Jets last year, but from what I did see, Rodgers himself didn't look like a bum, the team just struggled and was more than likely due to poor coaching on the whole.  The Steelers don't need MVP level Rodgers to win games, they just need him to be good enough to make some plays when it matters because the defense is keeping them in games every week regardless. In their 7 losses last season, the Steelers scored 10, 13, 17, 17, 17, 19, and 24... while giving up 19, 20, 24, 27, 27, 29, and 34 in those games.  With only marginally better offense last year, they probably end up winning a few more games too. They only scored over 27 points in 3 games last season. I think this is a great move by the Steelers and if Rodgers can stay healthy all year, will get them back into the playoffs and could make some noise if their defense is up to the normal level of a Steelers defense.
