Curtis Samuel, "The Brooklyn Blur"

The combine time doesn't match in game-speed but this is sweet:

Curtis Samuel had the 4th fastest 40 time in the last 6 years

1-John Ross 2-Dri Archer 3-JJ Nelson

4.31

The thing is, he's more refined than a Harvin at WR, he's a different type of mold.

Also--Yeah yeah, combine warrior argument and all, I just think this isn't really being given any light and is an awesome stat.

The crazy thing is how young him and McCaffrey are, both turning 21 shortly before the start of the 2017 season.

Yeah dude could be a great weapon for us , he'll have to work on becoming a more polished reciever catching and route running wise be he's got Ginn level speed and better hands at this point. Alot of his incompletions seem to not be from him literally dropping good balls, but from JT Barrett airmailing poo all the time , which we will have to hope Cam does not do the same thing to him lol

He played enough at RB to where he like Gettleman says has pretty damn good YAC ability and runs the ball better than alot of WR after the catch which is exactly what we needed on this team. With him and McCaffrey on the field we could confuse the living poo out of defenses, they can both play WR and RB.

I don't understand how a player can still catch with his body after 3 years of college ball and practice.

Seems common sense that the player and coach would have them rectify that after a year or at most two years of concentrated practice to improve weak areas.

Hopefully he can still be effective body catching or develop his hands here at Carolina.

Yea I'm with ya, but this is VERY common of college players.  I've seen a lot of players go from strict body catchers in college to being able to use their hands to pluck footballs in the NFL. Funchess was one.  100% body catcher in college but even though he hasn't turned into much of a WR yet, at least you can't say he's a body catcher now. He's definitely learned to catch with his hands away from his body. His problem isn't his hands, it's his route running and separation.

    • Bryce and Dave will determine how many games this team wins next year. It’s not on the WRs. The RBs. LBs. This is about 2 things: 1. Can Bryce continue to come up big in the few key downs that decide most games?  2. Can Canales evolve his play calling to counter punch like the big boys do. Half time adjustments.  teams that score 30+ points on the regular win more games than not. That’s on Bryce and Dave. The offense is top 10 at every position group, save for TE and QB. A baller TE is gravy but not crucial when the receivers are dudes.  The defense is the defense. It’ll be better this season, hopefully by a large margin, but Dave/Bryce is really where it’s at.
    • Normally I'd wholeheartedly agree with this. But I feel like teams figured out this offense after the Raiders game. Bryce was so inept the first 2 games that we couldn't really even run the offense. Dalton's first game showed what we had. But after that game, coverages got a lot tighter and windows were smaller. When Bryce came back in, his ability to extend plays made a big difference. It's really difficult to stop a QB that can beat/escape 1on1 tacklers. It puts a lot of pressure on the defense when you blitz. And he was completing throws in tight coverage with anticipation. Point being Bryce wasn't throwing to wide open receivers that were schemed open by the offense. Occasionally yes. But not often.
    • With the additions we've made to our roster combined with the state of the division and the conference as a whole there is no excuse for this team not to make a legitimate push for 8-9 wins. Anything less is honestly inexcusable. There will be no more free passes for being a doormat in this iteration of the league where even mediocre teams are competing for playoff spots.
