Think a lot of ppl are forgetting who our OC is....

Recommended Posts

Understanding Shula sucks and having realistic expectations is not exactly moping. I did all my moping when he was promoted. I'm over it now. All I can do is pray Shula gets fired or by the grace of God wakes up one morning with an innovative explosive genius offensive mind. Not holding my breath on that.

The reality is you have a negative attitude which by your own admission predated him actually becoming our OC. So everything you think and believe is biased and therefore to be taken with a grain of salt. Further you are hardly a Panther fan or you would be rooting for him to have a great season and lead us to a top 5 offensive finish. To wish a player or coach to suck so they get fired speak of a personal agenda. You are welcome to your own opinion no matter how misguided.

You mean ignore the facts that Shula has sucked his entire career besides one year and that no other team would have hired him as an OC?

Just when you think you have found the worst posters on the Huddle.....along you come and re-set the bar to ridiculously low levels.

Let me get this straight,

Going off facts (his previous experience) of which showed he was not a good OC therefore making me have a negative reaction to his hiring makes me biased?!? WTF lol

Sorry buddy, but I want the best at Carolina, and Shula is a long long long way away from being the best to one of the best offensive play callers in the NFL.

As for where I stand today, ive said numerous times I hope he proves me wrong. Would love to eat that crow.

I am gonna pull for him. But rest assured the moment he starts stinking up the joint again I am going to be calling for his head.

I hope he proves me wrong, but that don't mean I am suppose to live in la la land and forget basically his entire career of suckatude minus one year.

If acknowledging Shula has been trash 95% of his career and for people to possibly temper their expectations makes me a bad poster then I will gladly accept that title.

Hey there was a time when even Shula wasn't immune to criticism on the homerist of homer boards that is the huddle. There were many a game that we collectively posted "WTF WAS HE THINKING?"

At the same time he is one year removed from a scoring title, a superbowl and some absolute destruction of the competition with nearly a perfect  regular season. With plenty of holes on the offense.

As others have posted Cam audibles out of plays when he wants. And it is not clear how creative he can really be. Shula that is.

So I think it is disingenuous and naive to really state that he sucks or is awesome. And I am frankly dubious about this whole CMC experiment where Shula is going to have to come up with new stuff.

Game on.

When you have been subpar your entire career minus one season, it is not disingenuous to say he sucks.

I could understand if he at least went up and down his career (like RR). But that aint the case.

It is a fact, Shula has underperformed the majority of his coaching career.

Not saying he can't turn things around and become good or consistent. Its possible.

For the sake of the next season, I hope he does.

Personally, I am not getting my hopes up. Will believe it when I see it.

I've seen many say people suck for a whole lot less...

    • I feel the same way. Bryce hasn't proven himself to be so good that he would clearly lap anyone that we'd bring in the compete for the starting job. I think the team is actually afraid to do that. If Bryce goes down does anyone think Kenny Pickett is solid option to replace him?. We can control him for 2026 and 2027. The problem is 2028. Unless he takes a massive leap forward ability wise, I don't see how Carolina can justify paying B.Y. $50 million a year. So far, Bryce has not shown that he can CONSISTENTLY carry a team. He needs to be carried by a strong offensive line, running game, pass catchers and a respectable defense. If he's lacking any of those things I don't think we can make the playoffs in 2026/2027 unless the NFC South is as bad (or worse) than 2025. Unfortunately, athletes and agents have EGOs! When he has a chance for a 2nd contract his management team will probably insist on a "market deal" and feel insulted if they don't get one. That leaves a couple of options if his play hasn't significantly improved. 1) Let him walk and test the market. 2) Franchise him for the 2028 season if you're still not sure about what to do. 3) Extend him to a team friendly deal that pays him below the "current market" which would allow the team to continue to build a solid team to support him. 4) Over pay him and pretty much ruin any chance of becoming a consistent contender. The last option is the LEAST DESIRABLE ONE. The 2026 season is a pivotal season for Bryce and the Carolina Panthers. The success of the next 5-7 years could ultimately be decided on how well plays the next 2 seasons.
    • Thank god BigKat can't buy it because I'd be gone immediately
    • Drake Maye ended up putting almost 300 on them lol. Bryce was stunned from the beginning to end. I know that's an easy comp for the Bryce truthers but no one else put up those puny QB stats against them all season long.
