Beane doesn't rule out raiding Panthers staff

Word now that the Bills have hired Lake Dawson as Assistant Director of College Scouting. Dawson isn't directly Panthers related, but he was one of the people who interviewed for the Panthers GM job that eventually went to Dave Gettleman.

They really have built quite a braintrust up there.

He's a guy who's only job has been with the Panthers. It's natural he would leverage the only contacts he has made via Carolina.

And it's now his job to try and acquire the best players and staff, even if they happen to be guys the Panthers want, and to try and beat the Panthers, should his team play them, and to win the Super Bowl, even if it means defeating the Panthers to do so.

Nobody should really expect any less.

Heck, when we went on our Super Bowl run in 2003, the first stepping stone was to dramatically defeat a team coached by our former DC. I don't recall anyone saying we should have eased up to help Del Rio.

Yeah....they got some guys that were not wanted anymore and wouldn't draw much interest anywhere else. They were brought in to be stabilizing presence for a new coach.  I don't see that being the same for a FA that would generate leagewide interest.

The Bill didn't steal any players from us...they sifted through the leftovers.

Exactly. Is there any former panthers they have that we are going to miss including the staff?  Beanie is basically Hurney 2.0. A finance guy. And we still don't know how much of our defense was McDermotts vs Rons.
