I AM SO FREAKING EXCITED FOR 2017

Recommended Posts

Honestly, I am too.

indint expect Peppers to be the beast that he was in his prime or CJ for that matter, but I do think our edge rushing group is improved, I think our OL is improved, our secondary is improved with the addition of Adams and the rookies getting a year of experience and a full NFL offseason under their belts, and I think Cam has a better arsenal of weapons.

Overall, I think our roster is much better than it was last year and I think last year was both a perfect storm of injuries and a SB loss hangover. I really do think it's a fluke that isn't indicative of where we're going as a franchise.

Individually you might give a small sigh but I think as a group we have good depth. They have ability to rotate these guys in and out and keep them all fresh throughout the game.

If our starting DEs had to play the whole game without rest.  They would wear down quickly but we have 4 good players that perform very well as a group.   Hopefully the rookie will be able to add four or five to this group.

    • There probably isn’t an orthopedic surgery that has had more improvement in technique and outcomes over the last two decades than the acl repair. Because of its importance in pro sports and the sheer number that surgeons do there have been lots of opportunities to practice 1. Better techniques - arthroscopic v open surgery means people heal faster  2. More training - all sports med surgeons have tons of experience doing them 3. better imaging - later generations of mri are more sensitive  4. better therapy - PTs have gotten better at rehabbing them and the theories of rehab have improved a lot. No idea about brooks in particular tho, but I’d describe that overall situation as “not great”
    • If Freeling or either of the Utah OTs dropped to 19 I'd be more than happy honestly. Our OT situation isn't great with an aging Moton at RT and a mess of a situation at LT if Walker goes down at any point in time.  What I'm expecting the Panthers to do is probably draft another weapon like Sadiq or KC Conception. That's been their track record in drafting R1 thus far. None of the defensive talent projected to be around 19 stands out to me. Unless they just want to draft a LB early (Rodriguez,  CJ Allen, Anthony Hill, Jake Gollday).
