Sometimes coaches will play favorites or have rules in place to where it doesn't matter what a player does. 

Some coaches change. 

Possibility. 

Which I hope wont happen

The team knows this guy has the potential, ability and desire to be great. They don't need him in summer league. He could start if he balls out. Guards don't have to rely on strength like the bigs so he can get minutes if he plays good defense and can still score. It's on him.

Doesnt even need to play good D. 

He just simply needs to produce more positives than negatives. 

If he scores 25 on a good % and his counterpart scores 17 then its a net gain.

      I think he's gone, and rightfully so, if he turns in another losing record. The "talented roster," regardless of how true or not, is a double-edged sword. If the roster is so much improved now from 202X then why are you still producing losing seasons? On one hand, maybe that's what needs to happen. Have the GM hire the new coach, and then have the new coach pick his guy to run his system. That is typically how it works in the NFL. Not the forced inheritance deal we have had in place.

      Hinging on Brooks to be our spark...be good if it happens... but not holding my breath....RB next draft. Morgan gambled...it would be a 2 year payoff if thing happened.

      Only way Canales is fired is if we are attrocious everywhere....  defense /special teams and offense..  There are enough "questions" on if BY9 is the guy that ownership wouldn't fire the coach for "just" mid qb play.  Especially with as talented a roster that has played "well enough" to win some tough football games and hang in there against the top tier of the NFL ...(mostly).   Now total team suckage..yeah .. but I don't see that happening.
