Gofundme for Panther Fan

I hesitated to post this but then I thought of my Friend Jeff Erickson's son.  I grew up with this guy but lost track of him 30 + years ago.  When you younger guys get old you'll understand.  Another friend was a drummer in a band and a group of us helped where we could with the bands (#sloppyseconds) but Jeff made it his career to be a roadie on the southern Rock circuit.  The dude could tell stories for hours.  He wasn't well off but whatever cash he had he spent on his son and making memories at Panther and Hurricane games.  Cancer just took him from us a few days after taking his mom so his son (who I've never met but hope to meet Saturday) is in need of some help with burial expenses.

Our drummer best bud was a local celeb, he died 3 years ago and we still have "Cuz-Fest" in ILM to celebrate his life but Jeff was a rockstar in his own right!  Godspeed E!

Thanks JR, you're ok for an eagle fan!

If anyone can give, great.  But I posted it more for my benefit and it struck me how his son remembered the Panther games the most.  They weren't rich but they made a hell of a lot of memories.... so I guess they were rich!

I grew up with Kevin(Cuz) and Jeff and when you see friends moving on like that you learn to appreciate your time here.

Brak, I spent a lot of time at the Monk back in the day.  And Jimbo's afterward.  Small world!

    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
