I'm not worried at all. If he isn't throwing by the last preseason game then you can somewhat assume DA is starting week 1. Week 1 doesn't dictate the entire season. It's not like the Panthers have started hot on a regular basis so I'm not expecting it... Even though that would be ideal.

Shouldn't need him to beat San Francisco anyways

After watching Derek Anderson single handedly lose our game at home against TB last year I will never say that again.

Also, Anderson looks awful this camp...so

Fair enough.  And we absolutely can not afford to lose to a team like San Francisco if we want to make the playoffs.  So.

Who cares if he doesn't throw at all next week too, or the week after that, let him continue to rest it's all about week 1 - he'll be throwing week 1 that's all that matters

soooooo he'll just be sore all week leading up to week 2. wait but he is superman so nevermind he is only sore when it doesnt matter.

He'll be fine for week 1 I think. My dad had the same surgery and he was back to his normal self 5 months later. He's 67, plays golf twice a month, and goes to the gym 5 days a week. Hes nowhere near a world class athlete with world class trainers,  Cam will be fine.

It did seem like they were overworking his shoulder the first two days of camp.

Probably on purpose. There is no way to get his shoulder ready without going through these stages of soreness. It just isn't physically possible no matter how long they wait. If they waited until a week before the season, then he would still have to wait a few weeks after throwing.

Common sense and level headedness.

I like level-headedness, I mean as a fan there is nothing we can do so why get bent out of shape? Common sense doesnt come in to play here, if it did, it would say be cautiously optimistic at best. But people do believe he is Superman so there is that.

I buy that, I just think the timetable is longer than we hoped. Contact has not even been initiated yet so who knows what happens when that comes in to play.

    • Winning games and be a +500 team are good. But the goal is to win Super Bowl.  Chiefs had Alex Smith, went to playoff twice and still replaced him.   BY as of now: - To many fumbles - Completion in the intermediate range is just far below acceptable - Not enough of a deep throw threat....   The stats you try use is deceiving.  Catchable......  That is an opinion. Show me the completion %. And also, how does BY compare to other QBs using the stats you cited. Oh... ranked at 27
    • Your intelligence is artificial.
    • The Entitlement Paradox: When Winning Isn't Enough for Panther fans.    Just the other season(s) we were praying for wins by any means. Brought in every run of the mill QB you could think of.  We know all sides of the ball was bad like egregious bad. However some how we have won 5 games and TOXIC ENTITLEMENT has emerged.    We are a team that has to take wins by anymeans nothing has changed. Keep pounding means it aint gonna be perfect!!    Some panther fans have now developed a toxic entitlement where even victories feel insufficient, demanding flawless performance, or perfection, which stems from historical success in which we dont have any lol. This mindset poisons communities by fostering relentless criticism, harassment, and ingratitude that undermine team morale and alienate casual supporters. For the new Carolina Panthers, this could manifest as fans booing Bryce Young after gritty wins for low passing yards despite low turnovers, pressuring tepper into premature changes mid-rebuild, or driving away talent through online abuse!! eroding the positive momentum from their recent 4-game streak has brought us. Trust and believe the players do see your toxicity.    Anyways here are some positive stats.      Most Accurate QB on... 20+ Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (79.2%) 2. Sam Darnold (79.2%) 3. Bryce Young (75.0%) 10-19 Yard Throws 1. Jaxson Dart (88.0%) 2. Jayden Daniels (82.9%) 3. Drake Maye (80.7%) 0-9 Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (92.9%) 2. Spencer Rattler (92.6%) 3. Bryce Young (91.7%) @FantasyPtsData
