First Panthers Experience... Texas Pre-Season Game

I am brining my 8 year old to watch Carolina-Houston on Wednesday.  It is going to be a first visit for both of us and we are pumped!

That said, how much goes on before a pre-season game?  We are coming from Greenville, SC and will be able to check out pregame stuff if anything is happening.  I checked out the official Panthers page and found this info: http://www.panthers.com/fanzone/game-day-experience.html.  Will any of that be going on?

What time would you guys suggest we get there for a 7:30 game?

Thanks so much!

Panthers Lair

Get pumped up for the game at the Panthers Lair, which opens two hours prior to kickoff and is located on the corner of Mint Street and Morehead Street. Enjoy performances by PurrCussion, appearances by Sir Purr and autographs from the TopCats. The free, pregame festivities area is open to the public and features interactive games, sponsor giveaways, food trucks and a DJ. The Panthers Lair is fun for the whole family, so make it a tradition before every game!

Panthers in the Park

Visit Panthers in the Park, a pregame interactive area that offers fun for the entire family. Play at the Fuel Up to Play 60 Kids Combine, a series of football skills and drills for children and their families that promote youth fitness. Meet TopCats cheerleaders, see mascot Sir Purr and hear the PurrCussion drumline. Panthers in the Park is located at Romare Bearden Park in Third Ward between Church Street and Mint Street and opens two-and-a-half hours prior to game time and closes 30 minutes before kickoff.

It's preseason so it will be really laid back, but the weather is looking good, 67 degrees and only 20% chance of rain. If your kid likes to walk it's just fun to walk around town for a while and get a little bit of the pre game vibe. If you walk north, up Mint Street from the stadium, you will see Bearden Park where the Panthers in the Park is, across Church Street from the park is Latta Arcade with some places to eat. Have a great time

coming from Spartanburg, I'd get off on Freedom, take a left on Morehead, and park somewhere along there - there closer to the stadium, the pricier it gets.

That way when leaving you are on the right side of the stadium, and can take Morehead to Wilkinson out to 485, or back up Freedom to 85 directly.

If you are leaving early and are not worried about traffic at all theres parking all around the uptown area, out around Trade/Cedar etc...
