ESPN Top 100 players in 2017 , Cam is #96

The reasoning behind his ranking probably has a good deal to do with the talking heads skepticism of Cam's ability to "evolve his game" (aka "utilize his check down when needed" and "take the layups").  Also factor in his down year in 2016 of course, although I feel like the first reason is really what people are focusing on.

With that being said, I completely disagree with anyone who claims that Cam isn't fully capable of doing those things/making those adjustments.  Loved how Cam's first completion was a check down to CMC against the Jags.

It's now getting to that point in preseason where I'm over watching backups play and ready to wreck poo come week 1 @ SF.

Cam is coming off shoulder injury and the worst year of his career.

I think people here are more upset that he was ranked low rather than if he wasn't ranked at all.

These types of list are like draft rankings before the players have even stepped on the field.   Just sit back and enjoy the carnage when he destroys the league.

Its says predicting the top 100 players in 2017 . Luke is ranked #12 , KK Short #63,  Greg #71 , Cam #96

How in the fug is Cam that low? They didn't really provide any explanation as to why . Can one cursed season really take someone from out of the top 10 to nearly the very bottom?

It's 2017...why does this poo still offend you? Everybody else is used to it by now

he had an abysmal season last year. Seems about right.

there's 1,696 players in the NFL that make the 53 man roster.

96 puts him in the top 5% of the entire league.

Cam was one of the worst rated QB's in the NFL last year. Until he proves he can get back to his 2015 MVP form, I think the ranking is fair.

Holy poo.

His QBR most years is about 60 which is average / mediocre at best. Last year was god awful at 54.

2015 was 70. 2013 was 67 which is fairly good

80ish Great

70ish Good

60ish Average

50ish - Bad

Cam has got to be more consistent. Shula has to call better plays.

    • Not sure how much he was a long term piece of this team.   Sucks to not have him as part of the rotation.   Looks like it's Lee Hunter time.
    • This post was an error. Oops and sorry for the errors in the previous one. Too slow to edit.   We’ll see what they do.
    • I am not sure he will put the over the games but we’ll probably have them.   Two things I am thinking.  We have 4 preseason games.  All the coaches have enough service time to know the standards that are in place for decades. If I recall it was play your starters just a series to start woth and build it up until week theee where play a lot and you have week four to set hour roster. Evaluate before cuts.   Bevell will certainly have the whole thing down pat.   I’d they don’t do the fries and frie air will worry too. Because it is set up to do that.     I have said since they went t three preseason people have to figure a new way are still feeling it out and trying things.  We don’t have to this year.
