Will the NFC South be the strongest in the NFL this year?

The Saints and Bucs have way too many holes and question marks to be a serious threat at actually winning the division, but the "Any Given Sunday" thing applies when playing there.

The other two are the last two NFC champs.  The Panthers are the most talented team in football right now.

The answer is yes.

Looking at the division and honestly any one of them could make the playoffs. I don't think I can say that about any other division in the NFL.

Am I wrong? Is the NFC South the strongest in the NFL?

Hell yes this is definitely going to be the most balanced conference.

All of the teams have a franchise QB, legit Run game &  Weapon in the passing game.

Panthers , ATL & Bucs have quality defense that should improve with new draft picks .

Bold prediction all of the teams in south will be  .500 or better

It always amazes me to hear people talk about the defenses in the South, while leaving NO off, like it's markedly worse than the rest. ATL, CAR, and NO all had defenses ranked 21st or below in yards and points. The difference in Carolina and NO was 16 yards and 3 points.

Difference is Panthers defense had a down year otherwise it's usually top 15 .

    • It's definitely a historical issue at QB but to be perfectly blunt, we also don't do a good job of really developing almost any position if you look at the last decade or so. I tend to be on the side of that being far less a development issue than an evaluation deficiency.  I think we are in the situation at QB2/3 recently due to the overall roster being absolutely abhorrent and the QB classes being quite thin. It is harder to justify another Matt Corral(or several) when you can potentially get a real two deep contributor at other positions.  But, it was a lot of hard work to get to the point where are roster is so incredibly bad that luxury picks literally are not in our vocabulary.  This is the reaping what you sow portion of our history.
    • That is what I meant about our front office. They are like someone filling out a March Madness bracket based on preference of uniform colors and mascots. There's no rhyme of reason to some of these fugg'n mind numbing decisions they make.  They go all in on these flimsy-@ss prospects and are gun shy when it comes to more solid prospects.  It's literally maddening and the reason I stopped being so emotionally involved in this team. Heck the only reason I'm active on the board today is one, it's my day off and two, it's cut down time.
