Until the other thread gets moved, here i go again my caring audience!

So i found this in my need feed this AM:

http://kotaku.com/destiny-2-collectors-edition-booklet-is-a-massive-lore-1798731492

Someone has posted the text of the D2 Collector's edition book.  There is a link in the article to the text.  It has left me more excited, and amped to play!

The disposed Cabal emperor, Calas, knew of the Hive, Vex and Fallen.  No biggie.  Interesting.  But he asks for us to kill all the revolutionaries that over threw him.  Its pretty cool.  Book of Sorrows level good!  And there is an offer of alliance at the end.  This could be interesting, and a trap!

The more community us going to go nuts with this!  I cant wait!

Trying to avoid these spoilers at all costs, but couldn't help myself and peaked at a few- very excited to start playing

So I'm bad, I've watched up to the point where you get to the EDZ.  Not too long, but it's really f'ing cool.  I can't wait to get in there!  While it looks like a prettier Destiny, it looks much deeper.  I hear people raving about the story, and some even whispering Game of the Year (for whatever that's worth).

I'm stopping at GameStop to pick up my limited edition copy today =)  Thought about it last night, but work exhausted me!

@Doc Holiday Boo Hiss!  Quitter =P

I picked up my limited edition today at GameStop.  Redeemed my codes, as soon as my kid goes to bed, and I'm all prepped for tomorrow; I'm going to begin my journey to kicking Ghaul in whatever passes for Ca-balls!

My clan has been talking poo too, but hey I have a guaranteed better job in 7 months as long as I pass this course.

Well, can't argue with that =P  Study hard!   Nerd!!!

So I played an hour last night, and I am IN LOVE.  The game feels much bigger.  Grander.  I love the Hawthorne.  Sarcastic and funny.

Gun play is just as tight and amazing.  When you get your subclass, it's so epic!  Great planned moment.  The part after the fall made me really miss my double jump!

All I've been hearing is that the worst thing we can complain about is the shader system and eververse.  That's a GREAT start!

So how are y'all doing?  I played for like three hours Saturday night.  It was epic!  I finished the Nessus story at level 8, then saw I need to be 11 for Io....So I did some adventures and public events.  Man, Titan is the place for Public events.  Everyone was there when I was playing.

Man, I'm really in love with this game.  Sadly, I won't be able to play much this week due to work, and running myself to death last week.

Oh, I did pick up a sword.  Swords still feel amazing.

Sorry if the resolution stinks, used twitch capture to get the video.  I actually am archiving all of campaign footage, for funsies.  And to see if anyone picks it up for whatever reason.  I have zero intention of trying to youtube for a job!

Loving it.  D2 is sweet.  I've hit 20.  Have all of the titan sub-classes unlocked.  Drops have been on point.  I've gotten 5-6 Exotic weapon's or armor pieces.

If you haven't played the nightfall or strikes for that matter just wait!  Modifiers this past week were insane.  One of them was a time limit where you could gain time by killing enemies.  Defiantly added a pucker factor to getting it complete.  The rate at which HVT's or Public events happen is nice as well.

I'm jumping all over the place here.  At first I was like... yeah... I'll um... er... get destiny 2.

I'm SOOOO happy that I did.

Hey guys!, I was wondering about the story in Destiny 2 so far,  is it any good?  I been hesitant about buying it because of how incomplete the first one was.  The game play is amazing yes but what about the campaign/story?  Thanks!

It's amazing.  I'm level 12, and not done, but my clan is all pumped about it.  There's wonderful character.  No, you don't talk as a guardian, but you get so much development with the Vanguard and the other new characters (Hawthorn is amazing).  I find each new mission (trying desperately to stay unspoiled) exciting and fun.

If you were iffy about D1, then D2 should lays those fears to rest.  FUN game.  I just hate work has been keeping me so busy, and that I've been so tired.  I really want to play again!

I was worried.  Not gonna lie.  I was thinking.  Do I really want to get a game with a sh*t campaign and more of the same loot hunting.  I'm glad I got this game.  The campaign was like night and day from D1.  It's like a developer listened to its fans.  When i'm grinding for gear it doesn't feel as a chore.  Something or someone is always around the corner.  I'm finding it distracting.  Take a patrol to do something.  Find 4 things to do along the way.  The NPC's have been fun as well.

    • Congratulations do they know who the father is?
    • In my opinion Fitterer was probably right about not paying McCaffrey. Now not wanting to "pay RBs" in my opinion isn't something you want to set in stone, to me it all comes down to the individual.
    • Maybe I'm just not understanding, but everywhere that I have read says that signing bonuses go against the cap prorated by as much as five years. The following example uses Andrew Luck's rookie contract as an example. "Take Andrew Luck, the first overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft. Luck signed a four-year contract with the Colts worth $22.1 million and included a $14.5 million signing bonus. Rather than a $14.5 million cap hit in 2012, the Colts spread out his signing bonus over the life of his contract. The hit against the cap would be $3.625 million per year over four years instead of a direct cap hit of $14.5 million directly in 2012. This gave the Colts more leverage and cap flexibility in signing other players." https://www.the33rdteam.com/nfl-signing-bonuses-explained/ I don't know why some of you think that signing bonuses aren't counted against the cap over the length of the contract, but whatever.   "The bonus with a signing is usually the most garish aspect of a rookie contract. Bonus is the immediate cash players receive when they ink a deal. It factors into the cap, but only for the whole contract duration, in terms of salary cap calculations. In the case of Bryce Young’s $24.6 million signing bonus, that’s prorated to approximately $6.15 million per season over a four-year deal. This format allows teams to handle the cap and provides rookies with some short-term fiscal stability, which is important given the high injury risk in this league." https://collegefootballnetwork.com/how-rookie-contracts-work-in-the-nfl/ I understand how signing bonuses can be a useful tool in order to manage the cap, and as one of the article suggests, signing bonuses may become important if you have a tight cap, but the bill is always going to come due. I'm not necessarily referring to you Tuka, but it seems to me that others simply don't want to understand that fact which is why they're reacting to what I'm saying negatively. How odd. In any event, I have a better general understanding of why signing bonuses are used now, and it's generally to fit salaries under the cap. Surely players, whether they be rookies or not, love a signing bonus because they get a good portion of their money up front. This in turn gives them more security and probably amounts to tax benefits as well. I also understand why teams would not want to use signing bonuses, particularly for players or draftees who have a higher probability of being gone before a contract even ends.
