people seem to have a real and lasting want for their coach or quarterback to go Herm Edwards or Denny Green on the media and think that's a good thing.

Being a laughinstock isn't a good thing. Listen, Bobby Knight got away with that for a long time. Doesn't work that way in the NFL. Looking like a raving, uncontrollable lunatic in postgame after a loss doesn't make it less of a loss, just means losing the team the rest of the year too.

i don't want a freak out. teams are usually pretty embarrassed more by that than losing and it rarely, if ever, has a positive impact on the team or the coaches job security.

i don't want a detailed description of what the team is going to be doing. they need to keep their mouths shut as far as details about schemes and plays that they want to run.

the problem that i have is acting like losing is no big deal. you don't have to yell and curse and throw stuff around, but please, don't blow it off. it only gives the appearance that you don't care and are only there for the paycheck.

i do know that i don't want them to gloss over problems that they have. everyone sees the issues, why not talk about them? you don't have to tell how you are going to fix problems but don't pretend they aren't there.

the fans only want to know that you are trying to fix things and that you will acknowledge there are things to fix. a lot of fans are morons but not all of us. pretend that we know what you are doing and talk to the public like peers. don't talk down to us, talk straight to us.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
