Danny Trevathan needs to be suspended for dirty hit on Davante Adams: EDIT, Suspended 2 Games

Inconsistency of rule enforcement, selective timing of enforcing holding and PI, inconsistency of what a completed pass is ... these are bigger issues that are dooming the future of the NFL than the flag/ anthem issue (IMO).

Goodell et al are destroying the integrity and purity of the sport.

Was a perfect opportunity for the NFL to try out their new rule in ejecting players immediately for those hits and giving fans a little more faith in the future of this game.

Of course, they failed.

Yup and Cam is still not safe.

Poo happens...he'll get fined and rightfully so. Trevathan isn't a dirty player. Seeing things in slow motion over and over again riles up the masses...in real time he was making a football play and happened to lower his helmet at worst possible time.

you dont have to be a dirty player to make dirty plays. Optics matter, people see the way you treat your players and its bad for the game.

.... and more parents won't let their kids play football as we witness this game die a slow painful death.

Sorry, examples need to be made if you want this game to exist another 20 years.

To act like vicious hits will never happen is ridiculous...regardless of rules, fines, suspensions...im sure Trevathans intent was never to paralyze the guy. Football is violent and when violence is expected these things will happen. You can't legislate or penalize this stuff from happening.

It actually looks worse in real time. It was 3rd and goal too and he was clearly about to go down.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
