It's amazing either how bad Julio is in the red zone for his size, or how poorly the coaching staff uses him there. No TDs this year, and hasn't topped 8 since 2012, with most coming on big plays rather than red zone TDs.

He gets a ton of attention and can’t really get his usual separation in that close. But definitely the weakest part of his game — 6’2” ain’t huge, but he still should be able to bully corners with speed/ups.

Double quote not working.

1) Yeah I know but you injected him into the convo for some unknown reason.

2) Probably not the best decision (dunno if there was a better option as I didn’t see zoomed out replay), but he still was open enough and was delivered a very well-thrown ball. DB just made a great play — sometimes you’ve just gotta tip your cap.

And honestly, after that meltdown, we didn’t exactly deserve that game.

1. My point had nothing to do with Cam at all, just a recent example that was on the top of my mind of QBs being blamed for picks whether they're their fault or not.

2. When you're in game tying field goal range, you don't risk that. Agree it was a good defensive play, and poor play by Hooper but also was a poor decision considering the circumstances.

You take Julio’s 300 yard game vs Bene last year and he would have 1109yd last season. Julio is Josh Norman’s bitchhh

Tons of receivers are doubled all the time in the red zone and still get the TDs there. And I thought he was like 6'3" and has pretty long arms and can outjump most corners.

The NFL always circles the wagons and doubles down and protects their refs even when they make blatant mistakes, but I don't see anyway how they can do it this time with that Pats/Jets call. They claimed the replay process would be handled by the league office this year to ensure a better process, but it seems worse than ever culminating with that disaster of a call. Just inexcusable. Someone has to get fired over that one.

Not to interject but you're not crazy I understood what you said the first time and I understood what point you were trying to make

Fair enough on both points. I don’t blame Cam for his tipped ball INTs, and this is even harder to pin on QB since it was in breadbasket. As for decision, I don’t totally mind being aggressive and going for jugular — stuff like this occasionally happens as a result, and after a half-decade+ of ‘Smittyball’ maybe I’m not as risk averse as I should be.

    • To kick this up, The Athletic has a really comprehensive piece out where pretty much all QB questions are addressed. It is worth seeing.  https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7083539/2026/03/04/starting-quarterback-projections-free-agency-draft/?source=user_shared_article I’m putting something specific here but it should have a thread or something. It is an extensive exercise.  This is a dense write up with a lot of column inches used, about the Jets and Murray and Reich, all this stuff.. then it goes to backup QB and there is Dalton.  I am pasting that part: As for Dalton, Reich is installing the offense he was trying to run in Carolina in 2023 before he got fired, and Dalton was with the Panthers then; he’s an ideal option as a veteran backup to replace Taylor. Reich said this about Dalton in 2023: “The way he's throwing the football, the way he works through progressions, the way he handles the operation. … Since day one (when) he walked in the door, I'm like, 'This guy is starter-worthy.' You guys know I've said that all along. He's, in my opinion, one of the best 32 quarterbacks in the world.” ——— That’s true love lol. I never heard any of this. Pretty crazy I think, considering how the year went.   Anyway the dream is not dead. .
    • The Seahawks traded for wide receiver/returner Rashid Shaheed at the trade deadline. He proved to be a key acquisition. Shaheed returned a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns in the regular season and had a 95-yard kickoff return in the postseason. Shaheed, though, is scheduled for free agency. So, the 12 games he played, including the postseason, might be the extent of his time in Seattle. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Shaheed and the Seahawks are not close to an extension, and the expectation is that the two-time Pro Bowler will hit free agency. Shaheed has 153 receptions for 2,243 yards and 12 touchdowns in his four-year career to go along with three punt return touchdowns and a kickoff return touchdown. He ranks 13th on PFT’s top-100 free agents. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-rashid-shaheed-appears-headed-to-free-agency
