Jake Delhomme

That last run he made to seal the game, entirely on his own on a naked bootleg doesn't show up in the QB rating.

And I believe we saw him break through the wall when Hall latched onto him and Jake just fought for the first down. Just a quarterback with questions mano y mano with a DB that has been a ball hawk at times.

Let's hope this is the start of Jake coming back.

Jake finally looked like he was letting the game come to him instead of forcing what was not there trying to jump start something. He also did a good job of spreading the ball around today.

Both good points that I noticed as well. To be a game manager QB have to do these every week.

With this roster he can be a game winner by successfully being a game manager.

I dont think that ANYONE could argue that Jake almost LOST us the game today-- BUT Jake also- WON us the game today....

I will take that from my QB any day of the week.

Everyone needs to place more blame on the Offensive Line and less blame on Jake.

Jake is not playing well....but the Offensive Line is playig atrocious and consistently putting Jake in BAD situations.

He has no time to set up in the pocket. He normally has happy feet...add to it that the OL is gviing him about 2 seconds of protection and we are in trouble.

If the OLine steps it up, Jake's numbers will improve dramatically.

No doubt we need the OLine to perform at a higher level...it'd also help if Jake would step up IN THE POCKET as well.

That being said that was a great run by Jake and I hope we can continue this trend

That can be said (hypothesized) abut any QB at any level. The fact remains that you cannot always count on that happening and therefore you have to be a QB that can adapt if not given perfect protection week in and week out. For the most part today Jake did that and that is all we can ever ask of Jake Delhomme.

He looked more relaxed under center and made better decisions. He saw the field better (albeit against a poo team with players dropping like flies all afternoon) and was fairly accurate.

We cannot expect perfection from Jake nor can we expect it from the O-line. While I believe both are accountable for their execution every game, I expect the one man unit to be more flexible and adjust to the situation better than the 5-man unit can. I also expect the field general to always be capable of relaying what he sees to the assistants and play callers and play a crucial role from an in-game adjustment standpoint.

He looked better and that was what we all needed to see. I am not expecting much more than that and not ready to start blaming the line (who to your point has been very disappointing) again. He needs to adjust, to react, to respond, to anticipate and then deliver plays that resemble that of a professional Quarterback and that give the team a chance to stay competitive.

Not perfect, but also not abysmally ineffective is his weekly goal.
