Call me crazy, but I'm not even discouraged

I mean, c'mon folks... we all know that we suck after a bye under Rivera. Always have, probably always will. We made the Jets look like a good team today, oh well. We got the W. On a day when we didn't play well offensively or defensively, we made just enough big plays to get the win on the road that we had to have. A D that while elite on paper hasn't been producing turnovers got one and put in the endzone. We returned a punt for a TD in the first time in seemingly forever. Good teams find ways to win games against teams the should beat even when they're not playing well. That's what we did. Yes, the Jets had some TD drops. Yes, they helped us out with some penalties, but that's what bad football teams do. That's why we're 8-3 and they're 4-7.

Now, we just have to hope that this was nothing more than the typical Rivera-era post-bye letdown and that Olsen, TD, and Funchess are okay.

This one is a confidence booster. The team knows they didn't play well and they're gonna hear it this week, but we gritted out a W anyway. This may have been a necessary wake up call heading into New Orleans. Next week will tell us a lot.

Who in hades is discouraged?  We looked great last week, not great today.  Both W’s, count the same.  We have issues, so does everyone else-like the Saints who will lose today.

The atmosphere will suddenly be a lot different around here if the Rams get it done. As for who's discouraged, seemingly the majority of this board.

We looked bad, but anything can happen any week. You can look like a college team one week, and then look like world beaters the next. The most important thing is we got the W. Always easier to make adjustments after a win than a loss

We gotta figure out these bye week blues though. One thing to remember is that the Super Bowl always comes after a bye. If we're ever going to win a Lombardi under Rivera, we gotta figure out how to not come out flat after a bye week.

I'm with ya. It's a win we needed badly and we got it (however ugly). Ugly wins in the NFL are part of the deal.

Oh, the other thing that we have to hope for... that today's poor showing from Cam throwing the ball was due to that thumb and that thumb gets a lot better before next week's game.
