Do you think the Social justice warriors/movement will influence who buys/approved to buy the Panthers

So we have seen some pretty remarkable things change (or at the very lease, become heavily  scrutinized) in our culture due to social activism.  Whether it’s workplace misconduct, marijuana, racism, pay wage gap, police brutality, or sexual harassment.

We have seen Diddy, Colin Kaepernick, and others make their public bid that there are no African American NFL owners.

Do you think the league will make an effort to approve the sale of the Panthers to African American over other qualified candidates?

Yea to the billionaire

The league has the right of approval, but they can't force Richardson to not take the highest bid or not sell it to someone he likes best or someone who promises to keep it in Charlotte.

We're likely talking about at least a billion dollars here and possibly more. There's a very limited pool of people who can pony that up, and you have to have it up front just to even be considered.

Can you have a majority owner split amongst a large group or do you need a guy that essentially owns the team like JR?

Pretty sure one of the conditions of the sale will be that the team has to stay in Charlotte.

Richardson isn't going to sell it to anybody who gives him even the slightest hint that they might move it.

And yeah, that probably means that the ultimate buyer is going to be somebody native or with deep ties to the Charlotte area.

From what I've read of the rules, to have a controlling interest someone has to own at least 30%.

The speculation that one of the existing minority owners or families will step up and buy a larger stake is highly plausible to me.
