You could say this about any coach. Take Brady away and Belichick wouldn't win 5 Super Bowls.

Except what have each of these head coaches achieved with their franchise QBs?

Let's take a look:

One coach has managed 17 consecutive winning seasons and 5 super bowl victories.

While...

The other head coach has achieved 4 losing seasons in 7 years and a Super Bowl beat down.

See the difference?

Rivera is nothing special when it comes to head coaches, even today, he didn't have his team properly prepared.  The team played down to their competition, barely escaping with a win, thanks to some last second heroics by Cam Newton.

Oh please.  Rivera has a similar career coaching record as Sean Payton, who most people on this board worship as an incredible coach.  Brees is a 1st ballot HOFer.  Give Rivera some credit.

Oh please, more homer talk with bitch language and "the announcers hate us wahhh wahhh wahhh" type poo. No one worships Sean Vicodin but it's pretty funny to see the butt hurt when Panther homers realize their team/players/coaches aren't the best in the world and when this gets pointed out they cry hard in their sleep.

Brees was nothing before he got to NO and they both made NO. Its cute to see some revisionist history acting like it wasn't a risk to bring in Brees off that shoulder injury. Payton calls an onside kick in the SB down 4 right after halftime, you got damn right he's a better HC than Rivera.

And I have yet to point out that before Payton, the saints were known for bags over their heads. And is an all time historically bad franchise.

Fake punt was a good call today.  Our line discipline causing neutral zone infractions at opportune time is a direct result of coaching.  I think we waited a bit long to start passing to McCaffrey (3rd quarter) .   We definitely were more passive on defense in this one which put a lot of pressure on our secondary (combine that with some odd pi calls).

He's a good coach,  and his results prove it.  Period! End of story.

It's almost unbelievable what this team has achieved with such glaring holes. I wonder what Ron's record looks like with an A-list receiver and safety.

If Ron actually gave a poo to address those positions going 7 seasons now maybe you would know.

A win is a win,  and close wins happen week in and week out in the NFL.  That's just the nature of the game.  Rivera has always been a good coach. He could be a great one with better clock management and more of a killer instinct.

How long do we got a fuging wait?? poo, after 7 seasons he still has learned nothing.

There  is a difference between winning superbowls and having winning seasons/making the playoffs consistently. We have seen the patriots be successful without Brady also getting rid of other great players and not missing a beat. If any coach can lose a big piece and continue to win, you bet your money on Belichick everytime.

No, no, Ron is a top ten HC.

He just hasn't figured out back-to-back winning seasons, clock management, the proper use of timeouts or team preparation coming off the bye weeks.  Other than that tho...

Lack of football knowledge on full display from the Panther homers.

Drew Bledsoe was doing just fine before he got hurt....fool acting like Brady started the season and DIDN'T come off the bench due to injury. Take away Brady and the Pats still will that first SB with a non injured Bledsoe....even Brady has said this.

Bledsoe doesn't get hurt there may not have been a Brady or it would have came a few years later.

They lost to a stifling defense, a more experienced Patriots team had no answer for it either they won't have face a defense anywhere near that level this year.

Denver had a great defense, yes. Stifling performance was result of ZERO offensive adjustments.

You forgot being unable or incapable of making in game adjustments when original game is not working. Add all the things you have listed above and that about sums it up.

Yeah, Ron being incapable of making in game adjustments when the original plan isn't working should go to the top of the list.

The Super Bowl fiasco is a perfect example.

    • Even if he beats the odds, returns midseason  and plays like he did last year it won’t warrant a big contract extension.
    • It’ll be interesting to see how the board falls I completely agree with you on TE for us The safety from Oregon would be the cherry on top for Evero’s defense/scheme.  If a OL’men is there that you love it would be very hard to pass up. This fan base seems to just see Walker as a stop gap but I wouldn’t be so sure. He’s the same age as Ekwonu. He’s had a much more impressive career arc/progression than Icky has. He’s the better pass protector. As far as I see it if Walker has a good year I’d bring him back over Icky. Ekwonu isn’t some elite franchise LT. Playing next to Lewis is going to be great for Walker much like it has been for Icky. We definitely need to get younger/cheaper on the OL though so for this reason alone it’s still top of my list come round 1 if board falls this way  Could also use another corner with Mike Jackson’s deal up after this season and needing a nickel but Corey Thornton looked really good in that role in the limited time we got to see him. However he’s coming off an achillies injury and you never know with those.  Then as mentioned above we do still have a need at WR. As far as “weapons” go it’s kind of a 2 man show with Tmac and Coker and neither is a burner. If Jordan Tyson is there at 19 and we can have a young WR group locked up for cheap that’s a huge advantage cap wise  And don’t forget linebacker. That clip in Devin’s Lloyd blueprint they used from Evero saying they need more intelligence there could’ve been left out for Wallace’s sake but it’s true. Wallace is lost in coverage. Pair a smart linebacker with Lloyd and that’s a group with Wallace and Cherelus being depth
