I'm trying to find a player that lead his team in passing and rushing for a season.  Vick never did.  Nobody is talking about this, but I think it's an incredible feat, with a real chance to happen.

Thats not a good thing

Vick ran for 900 yards one season and over 1000 yards in 2006 i he didnt lead the  team because Dunn was a good back

if cam played for another team he would have nfl receivers to throw to, a coaching staff that trusts him, and he wouldn't be forced to be his team's leading rusher. he doesn't have the luxury of playing in a system that inflates the quarterback's stats, nor does he have the luxury of having even a decent running game to play off of because he IS our running game. stewart and mccaffrey have carried the ball over 300 times this season for under 3.6 yards per attempt. that's pathetic. cam has 15 more yards than stewart on 70(!) fewer attempts. if cam newton ran the ball 1 time for a loss of 230 yards next week he would still have averaged more yards per attempt this season than the stewart/mccaffrey duo (total)

there isn't a quarterback in the league that would have this panthers team at 11-4 (with a shot at the #2 seed entering week 17!!!). not one. there isn't a quarterback in the league that's expected to do so much with so little. cam newton orchestrated a game winning drive while completing 3 key passes to total scrubs brenton bersin and kaelin clay before plowing headfirst into the endzone after an entire game of gutless play-calling. but yeah keep on basing your opinions on box scores. same goes for the clowns who pied you.

Box score? we have watched games  were Cam  has just played bad  real bad

Only a clown would deny that

Replace Cams name with Brees or Ryan and this place would be going crazy suggesting they are MVPs this season

Fan does not equal homer

It's interesting how if you expect more than just not being mediocre and having to rely on Cam Newton heroics 9 times out of 10 to win, people want you off the huddle for being "negative". But for 8 years this place has been littered with fans that either downplay Newton's accomplishments, or flat out just want another QB for "reasons", and nobody even bothers to say anything anymore for the most part.

Exactly i want Cam to complete 60% of his passes or more get rid of the ball on some plays and not take that 7 yard sack running backwards

Somtimes he needs to take a little off the ball when he throws.  those tipped ints hurt the Panthers in close games1

I dont expect him to be Brady or Rodgers

But those little things are the diffrence in wins and losses sometimes

Did you quote the wrong post?....

Few people here would argue with the fact that Cam Newton has issues with accuracy at times. Duh. We get it.

But nitpicking his game when he has managed to navigate this team to an 11-4 record while leading the team in rushing and literally putting the team on his back is just asshattery.

Much ado over nothing.

We are likely going to be the 5th seeded team in the NFC.  Most of the time, MVP awards go to players on the top seeded teams.  The last time it didn't was probably Adrian Peterson in 2011.  Had we beaten New Orleans once, and not lost to Chicago, Cam would be in the thick of the MVP discussion.  You can make the argument that the selection process itself is flawed, but any perceived slight on Cam is probably misguided.

Again you can be fan without being a homer the Panthers being 11-4 doesnt make him MVP

I can be Panthers and Cam fan

And not claim him to be MVP just because he plays for my team

Sounds like hawks pats and cards fans claiming their qbs were the real MVPs back in 2015

    • Extrapolate that with every QB for that matter. I guarantee you there's quite a bit of missed opportunities and yards left on the field for everyone. Many NFL QBs deal with WRs not putting in A+ effort, subpar o-line play and other deficiencies. The great ones are able to rise above these issues and create opportunities for plays. Guys like Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes can both play in and out of structure, as well as find ways to get yards when things break down and mask mistakes by throwing guys open, creating opportunities from nothing, etc. Bryce Young has only shown he's able to make things happen when the rest of the team picks up his slack. Very rarely does he create those opportunities himself. When this is a consistent pattern year after year with Bryce where he shows up lackluster, it's a concern. This is year three and he should be elevating the team as a first overall pick this franchise traded up for.  He was far from elevating anyone against JAX. In fact, he needed others to elevate and create for him. Excuses may be fine for a rookie, but this is year three for the first overall pick. Not looking good so far.
    • I think the worst issue is coaching. Countless bad snaps, XL not getting his feet in or trying on runs plays, our centre being down field when he didn't need to be. All seem to be from poor coaching for me. I believe Canales is to soft to rip the players a new one when the fug up. Plus I honestly believe that Canales is slow getting his plays in giving Bryce less time to diagnose and adjust to the defence. Don't worry I could of head butted Bryce for that fumble and the 4th down throw aways but the other plays are explainable to me
    • No We have been making excuses for him for 3 years, and we have gave him a hundred chances  Bryce is a bust, and we need to cut him now and stop wasting everyone's time
