Spent 3 picks on corners, and all 3 are bad smh. Sucks to go from a shut down corner, who helped our safety play, to this.

Another Gettleman screw up.

You mean five draft picks. Gettleman traded up for Daryl Worley, and also used another pick this year for Corn Elder.

I'd give elder a chance to actually play before deciding he cant

I didn't say he couldn't play. I was correcting the user on the amount of draft picks sunk into cornerbacks since moving on from Josh Norman. I personally think Corn has tons of potential, and was probably the one pick Gettleman made in the last three years that I really liked.

Coleman is just a lump of muscle that can't leave the ground, doesn't have a nose for the ball at all, and runs like a 40 year old.

Adams is the kind of player you have at safety when you ran out of options and had to make move out of desperation to throw someone out there.

Pretty much

I got you. Just making sure cuz I really want corn to be a solid corner for us.. It makes the team better if he can just not be another wasted pick

People don't get it, this defense isn't built to stop teams from gaining a single yard. We're built to keep teams out of the endzone and generate turnovers. Yes, Worley and Bradberry allow a lot of completions, but they are also good tacklers which prevents those completions from turning into touchdowns. PFF's grades don't account for that. When we allow big plays, it isn't on them, it's usually on our safeties who are either out of position or just athletically outmatched.

However, when we get into the redzone, their liabilities against speed are nullified by the shrunken field and can use their size/athleticism to prevent teams from scoring. Also, to beat them downfield, the quarterback has to hold the ball which gives our rushers time to get to him. Usually, when they are beat, it's because a QB scrambles out of a sack. That's also not on them, it's difficult for any cornerback to cover receivers for that long.

With that said, they both need to work on their ball skills and awareness. Neither of them get their heads around in time when the ball is in the air and have trouble holding on to interceptions. Those are correctable mistakes though, they aren't bad players and are generally doing what's asked of them.
