Confirmed: Giants will NOT pursue Steve Wilks

Ignoring the off topic matters in here, this should be expected.

Wilks was an easy correlation for people to make but DG never hired the staff he had and it's clear they want to build a legit contender with a relatively quick turnaround.

If the rumors about Bill O'Brien and Texans ownership are true, I think that's my best guess for the next Giants coach.

How fitting will it be when we win the SB with Rivera , Shula & Hurney in cpl of months :).

Hurney has nothing to do with it if they do. He is just here untill they sell this team and find a competent replacement.

I don’t think so , first of all nobody is going to fire a SB winning HC & GM  after end of the season.

JR will get what he wants after the ring aka increase in team value.

New owner MJ will keep majority of the core intact.

Jim Schwartz....come on down.

Schwartz and O'Brien are both heavily rumored.

This news likely also rules out Eagle coaches Frank Reich and John DeFillippo as neither of them really seems to suit what they're looking for either.

And no, it's not gonna be John Fox.

Thia is guaranteed by recent team statements (link)

Team ownership has stated that they want one of two things in a head coach:

1) Someone who's been a head coach before

2) Someone who's been a coordinator for an extended time

Wilks is neither of those things.

Mind you, this doesn't guarantee that somebody else won't go after him, but if Wilks is coaching another NFL team next year, it won't be the Giants.

fuging trash OP

just because the Giants put out a wishlist of the traits of an ideal candidate it DOES NOT mean that wilks is not even a consideration. this is like a job listing that asks for fifty years of experience and expertise that no one in the world has. it's not an actual requirement. delete this please

Good. This is Wilks first year as DC. Give him some time to grow with us, as I feel he’s got the potential to be a great defensive coordinator.

Still a very real possibility that someone else pursues him, especially with multiple openings expected and his being on the NFL's recommended interview list.

As I said, nothing to do with anything this season. He is Just a lump waiting to be replaced in 2018. MJ isn't buying this team either.
