Per the Observer

But he might be interested.

Quote

“(Felix) did not ask me to be involved,” Earnhardt said. “I did call Marcus (Smith, the CEO of Speedway Motorsports) and I said, ‘Hey, Marcus, if you guys are in the middle of it and you think it’s a good business deal, I definitely have some interest.’ But I am not one of the guys that Felix is talking about.”

Gantt's take...

It is more likely that I spend my own money to go to a NASCAR race than it is the NASCAR people end up owning the Panthers.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing.. He is a Redskin fan why would he want to buy in??

Doesn't matter, when you own a team. If you own part of a team, and root for another team, you would be a complete and utter idiot. Simple as that. Could you imagine owning the Panthers and saying something moronic like "Yeah, I own part of the Panthers, but I'm a Skins fan through and through." Sorry, that just doesn't make sense.

Kevin Durant said he wants to own part of the Panthers too, and he would wear Skins gear on the sideline. And I just face palmed when I heard the interview.

Most of the speculative reports keep mentioning local people. When the dust settles, I would not be surprised if it's someone no one thought of (or heard of) that has no real ties to this area which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Eddie Debartlo is the outside guy imo who would have a chance..

Business > Fandom

I hate the Cowboys, but if I could get a piece of that money maker you best believe I would do it.

I understand I just don't like the fact he has been so vocal about his affection for the Redskins..

Why? If he was a Skins fan and owned part of the Panthers, he would immediately be a Panthers fan 100 percent. Unless he was a complete and utter fug tard.

As vocal of a redskins fan he is (Whiskey River spot) and the fact that this area has market ties to Washington doesn’t lead me to believe that he would just turn off being a Redskins fan.

I get it, but since putting money into the Panthers is an investment. He would look really freaking stupid to root for the Skins continuously.
