Defensive Strategy

With a DL coach taking the reins, you could theorize it'll probably be pass rush heavy (which is how Rivera likes it anyway).

Out where Wilks is headed, they've run a 3-4 for the past few years.  There's some speculation as to whether they keep that or go 4-3.

So Eric Washington is the new DC.   Good move IMO

What will our strategy be going forward?  It will be interesting with Washington, given his strength on the DL

I would like to see more of a 2013 Defense especially the way DL plays.

I wouldn’t mind getting a young DE in the mid rounds.

Coach Washington strikes me as a very intense coach but maybe not as aggressive as Wilks. I think we might be going back to playing a little more zone and mixing in some man principles from time to time. I think the secondary will be find next season if we can add more speed at safety. I think it's also huge the Panthers find a young legit pass rusher this season that can wreck games at DE.

    • FLA showed everyone it’s not about superstars. they bullied the best line in the NHL into obscurity. they played hard, were in the right positions, and ran over everything that got in their way.
    • That’s really not what you said and when I even expressed doubt as to your intentions with the post you doubled down and remained unclear on whether you were trying to drag Dean Smith for whatever reason. You just got the facts wrong, which if you don’t follow the local college programs like you say then maybe you just were mistaken and thought Smith didn’t win championships or have legit superstars, and that is ok, but you just doubled down when my first post was more corrective than anything. I’m not sure what you expect posting objectively false things like “RBA has a lot of wins with nothing to show for it like Dean Smith” (paraphrasing) on a message board with plenty of UNC fans. I’m not taking it as a personal affront, we can agree to disagree, Dean Smith’s legacy fortunately will not be affected by this conversation. Screw the (Florida) Panthers?
    • Bring in the free agents and trades.  Florida is the best team and unless Tulsky makes it happen, it’s more of the same…which isn’t bad…but it’s time to win a goddamn cup.
