Ricky Manning Jr will not return to Seahawks coaching staff

Manning was Seattle's assistant defensive backs coach.

According to the article, that makes a total of eight assistants the Seahawks have dumped this offseason.

Apparently, Pete Carroll is blaming pretty much everybody.

 When Seahawk fans were claiming they were the next dynasty back in 2013  I had a feeling that Seattle would be a great team for a while but ultimately it would not last in today’s NFL.  What new England has done over the past decade and a half is the exception not the norm.

Not sure why anyone thought Manning would make a great coach anyway. The NFL cracking down on defensive pass interference and illegal contact pretty much ended his career. He wasn't a great CB due to his superb technique, he was just physical as all hell and once he could no longer physically bully receivers he was pretty much done as an NFL CB.

I'd call his bluff. No MLB team is going to pay him $32M over the next two seasons or anywhere close to it.

Im not denying that Pete Carroll is a good coach but if you look at every stop he has been he had success (legitimately or not) but the team was steadily declining when he left.  Seattle is in a downward spiral, so was USC and way back so was the Patriots. 

I think his carefree system is not built for an extreme long haul.
