Or because no one else wants him because he's 40.

He's younger than Dez but OK. I can tell you for certain I would have much rather spent money on Torry Smith last offseason instead of captain fuging munnerlyn(whos even older lol). but hey, family first right?!

I'd love Torrey Smith here. Been wanting him for ages now. Maybe he'll come to Carolina now that he has a ring.

The Eagles will most likely release him so he will be free to go wherever he wants and I imagine he would be cheap. Think they can save about $5M in cap space by doing so and he wasn't used much last year. He had one or no catches in half of the games last year so not sure what he has left in the tank.

If I had to guess, he will most likely return to Baltimore for one last go if it works for both parties. That's his "home" and where he wants to be and he won't be playing much longer.

One was the number 1 wr all season the other assumed that role at the midway point. If funchess would've been the main option his numbers would be better than Dez's

Funchess was the the number 1 target all season, even when KB was in Carolina

My big question with him was whether he just wasn't recovered from his prior year's injury or if he's genuinely done.

It's an extremely difficult thing to discern the difference between those two conditions.

He is 29 y.o.  Hardly washed up.  I think you have to take into consideration that his numbers fell off when Dak took over.   Not a coincidence. Same as Smitty numbers dropping when Cam took over.  Just didn't work.  Didn't mean Smitty was washed up.   He went to Baltimore and resumed his terror on the league.

Exactly. Don't judge a receiver by the numbers he put up playing with a below-average QB.

The question is.  Will he have chemistry in Turner's offense with Cam?

I think so.

Cole Beasley had career numbers when Dak took over. But I've already broke down why this is and it's due to the fact that Dez is rarely "open" anymore.

And this past season Dez got the same percentages of targets that he got in his best two seasons with Romo. He just isn't producing
