we should just move Funchess to our TE instead(replaces Dickerson, solid backup to Olsen, that way we can get a real clear view of what we need (X, Y, and Z WRs,"Waktins/Robinson, Draft pick, Pryor/Moncrief"...with Samuel and Byrd being viewed as 4 and 5th options at WR

seriously, Greg gets paid to play and mentor Funchess, resigned Funchess on a TE deal vs WR deal. Dickerson gone and you now have 3 brand new weapons and new OC.

This is a very, very stupid idea.

Maybe I’m in the extreme minority but I feel Watkins is overrated and not reliable...his last 2 years have been extremely average...I know several Bills fans who don’t miss him at all. Give me the much cheaper option in Wallace.

I kinda feel the same about Watkins.  Probably any WR that available has some questions but I agree Watkins is overated.

Agreed. It's been frustrating spending 1st round picks on positions of strengths where those guys get stuck behind better, more experienced players for the majority of their cheap years.

DG undoubtedly had an eye for talent, but he was too stubborn about stockpiling hog mollies. If you look at the defenses for the Eagles or Jags for example, they are well rounded and stout overall, they didn't overly pour resources into one area. That's the issue. I could begin to rationalize allowing the receiving weapons around Newton (other than Olsen) to continually hover around average at best for the last 5 years if we were building a well rounded defense to help him out. But we've had a revolving door at DE, and the only marginally elite CB we've had in that time frame, Marty Hurney drafted.

Yep, we stacked up DTs and LBs then spammed picks like crazy at CB out of pure necessity because we had to put a secondary on the field.

Derwin James 4.48 to go along with an 11' broad jump and 40" vertical.

The dream of James at #24...

Yeah that would be awesome already seen where if Cowboys want him they would have to come get him before the 15th pick. Wish we had a chance!!!

gettleman drafted as many WRs as DTs in rounds 1 and 2, actually more if you count McCaffrey based on the way he’s been utilized (80 receptions)

My issue with DG's WR drafting is that he didn't draft WRs, he drafted athletes who fit what he pictured as WRs. KB and Funchess were both viewed as WR/TE tweeners and Samuel was a WR/RB tweener.
