1. Phoenix Suns
Deandre Ayton
Arizona
Freshman
C

Height: 7-foot-0 | Weight: 243

Ayton is answering many of the questions scouts have had about him since high school with a string of dominant performances down the stretch. Physically, he's one of the most gifted prospects we've seen in the draft in the past few years, and he has an impressive skill-level to boot.

Phoenix, the worst defensive team in the NBA, will be right to question Ayton's impact on that end of the floor, but his sheer productivity makes it difficult to not slot him at the top of this class.

2. Memphis Grizzlies
Luka Doncic
Real Madrid
Age: 19.0
PG

Height: 6-foot-8 | Weight: 228

After playing 80 games in the 2016-2017 season, Doncic went straight into preparation for the EuroBasket, which extended deep into September, giving him no offseason whatsoever. His body is paying the toll for that now, as he clearly hit a wall in the month of February and was recently shut down by Real Madrid for at least a couple of weeks. It will be interesting to see if Doncic can regain his early season form heading into the EuroLeague and ACB playoffs, which will help him reestablish his candidacy for the No. 1 pick.

Doncic would be a dream pick for the Grizzlies, as he has the size, skill and versatility to fit in very well alongside all their existing talent, while possessing quite a bit of star potential in his own right.

3. Atlanta Hawks
Jaren Jackson Jr.
Michigan State
Freshman
PF/C

Height: 6-foot-11 | Weight: 240

The youngest prospect in the draft, Jackson may have the highest ceiling of anyone in this class in terms of his ability to affect the game on both ends of the floor. He has enviable physical tools, including a 7-4 wingspan and tremendous mobility. Jackson's ability to space the floor (40 percent from 3, 80 percent from the line), block shots (5.7 per 40 minutes), switch on every screen and, increasingly, put the ball on the floor from the perimeter make him an ideal fit for the modern NBA.

It's easy to see Jackson manning the center position for Atlanta or pairing with exciting rookie big man John Collins in an athletic frontcourt.

4. Sacramento Kings
Marvin Bagley III
Duke
Freshman
PF/C

Height: 6-foot-11 | Weight: 234

Although there are some positional concerns regarding Bagley and his fit in the modern NBA, particularly on the defensive end, at some point his talent level and sheer production are likely too great to pass on.

The Kings are still figuring out just how good their young frontcourt prospects are and might not be in a situation to pass on a "best talent available" type due to positional considerations. Bagley's athleticism, motor, rebounding and finishing ability would complement their existing pieces nicely.

5. Orlando Magic
Mohamed Bamba
Texas
Freshman
C

Height: 7-foot-0 | Weight: 207

Bamba is one of the most unique prospects in this class, with game-changing defensive potential to go along with a rapidly improving skill level that combined gives him significant long-term potential. Nagging injuries to his foot and toe have hampered Bamba somewhat recently, but every team in the NBA is looking for a big man who can anchor a defense. That includes the Magic, who have struggled badly on that end of the floor.

Although the Magic could very well be in the market for a point guard, there are still question marks about whether Trae Young or Collin Sexton are worthy of being picked this high.

6. Chicago Bulls- Wendell Carter Jr.
7. Dallas Mavericks- Michael Porter Jr.
8. Cleveland Cavaliers (via Nets)- Collin Sexton
9. New York Knicks- Trae Young
10. Philadelphia 76ers (via Lakers)- Mikal Bridges
11. Charlotte Hornets- Miles Bridges

I swear to God, if Trae Young falls to us, and we don't pick him, I will punch a hole in my new houses wall.

Watching Nova vs Bama right now and Bridges is lighting it up.  He is ridiculous.

He is the best 3 & D to come out in a while.  Would love us to trade up somehow to secure him.

I really think he'll the star of this draft class.

2/3 wise, if we're at 10 Hutchison is worth a look over Knox or Miles B.

PG wise...call me crazy but I'm digging Sexton over Trae Young.  Don't want Duval.

Sexton won't be there where we pick, in my opinion. And Bridges probably will be there when we pick. I'm hoping we take Young if he's there over Bridges. Young is for sure a BANG or average kind of guy. While Bridges looks like a 3&D guy. And we need much, much, more than a 3 & D guy.

Bridges is a type that can put a team over the top, still has an awesome ceiling and I imagine Cleveland could eye him.  I think he's gone earlier than most think and won't be there at 10.

The way things are trending, Sexton will be the first 1 off the board and ahead of Trae.

Gone: Ayton, Doncic, Porter Jr, Bagley

Pretty sure gone: Mikal Bridges, Sexton, Jackson Jr., Bamba

--

That's 8 guys...with the group of the following remaining:

Trae Young

Wendell Carter

Mile Bridges

Lonnie Walker

Troy Brown

Chandler Hutchison

Kevin Knox

--

I agree, if Trae is there, we should probably snag him.  If he's a boom, it's a major boom.  We're used to busting so should just go after the boom or bust again.

AGREED! Preaching to the choir my man. For some odd reason Carters stock has started to go up. A few months ago, he was late lottery to mid first round. Now I see him going top 10.

If Young is gone, and Carter is there at our pick. WE HAVE TO SCOOP HIM UP.

Pick 11 lol. This franchise is in the black hole of the NBA. Should of tanked sooner. Getting ready to miss out on one of the best groups of prospects I have seen in a long time.

Can't even complain about it anymore man, you should be used to get poo on by this franchise. LOL.

    • okay I found this and it sounds like my hopes for the first surgery being not such a great job seems like it could be actual reality.  I only hoped because that would give a better chance for recovery and ia a possible scenario so I just thought it could be possible. Had no real evidence of it. But I’ll be damned.    This is a detailed report of Brooks’ surgery and the condition of his knee after the failed repair.     https://x.com/jmthrivept/status/2055743129408704806?s= Sparked by some very good questions by @CoachspeakIndex, here’s some info on Jonathon Brooks: 1. Speculation that the first graft/ACLR by Dr. Cooper didn’t “take” or at least was too lax, leading to failure and re-tear. Brooks dealt with issues cutting, progressing in his rehab into the early stages of 2024 and then re-tore it late 2024, requiring a second ACLR in January 2025 (essentially revision). Notably, CAR prolonged Brooks’ rehab process through Sept-Oct due to issues progressing into the next stages of rehab. 2. Second surgery performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, who has extensive experience with revisions. He did a double bundle technique, harvesting graft from Brooks’ left patellar tendon and a strip of his right IT Band (his right patellar tendon had been utilized for the prior graft in 2023. The double bundle technique significantly increases rotational stability of the knee, leading to a stronger and more secure graft/reconstruction. Also to note, Brooks’ surgery wasn’t significantly delayed, meaning that the tunnels from his prior ACLR were in good shape and they didn’t need to perform bone grafts to fill in (would have delayed 2nd surgery by 5-6 months). Essentially, reading the tea leaves tells me that everything else except for the graft itself was still in good quality within his knee. Good sign for future.  3. Typically, you see a performance increase anywhere from 16-20 months post-revision. Brooks will be ~21 months out from his second surgery by the time Week 1 hits. His knee should be more stable and stronger this time around, with adequate time for healing and return to all movement patterns. I’m not viewing this situation as a typical “Player __ had TWO ACL tears, he’s cooked” situation. Rather, I’m viewing it as the first procedure failed, but the second procedure is significantly stronger and should allow him to return to form this time around. I don’t know why it posted as a link but there it is.
    • Jackie, any more reps tomorrow, or is that it for this session?  thanks for the work
    • How can you say they aren’t trying to win now with all the moves made in free agency? Or is trading first round picks the only way to be win now? I’d be fine never trading another first round pick again, win now be damned.
