Latest updates on the team sale

Make of this what you will, but apparently Ben Navarro's visit has been moved up. WBTV is reporting that Navarro is in town to visit the Panthers facilities today rather than Wednesday as had previously been announced.

Could mean nothing, but could potentially mean that the time frame on the sale is speeding up. Folks have tried to connect this with Roger Goodell's being in town (which again could just be coincidence). It is worth remembering that per Albert Breer, the NFL has already begun the process of vetting Navarro.

Still no word on when or if David Tepper will visit.

Honestly I wonder if Tepper needs to tour at all. Given his history and being part owner of a franchise that we've had ties to since the beginning. He may have already seen the stadium and behind it's scenes

Goodell has been in NC visiting colleges with his daughter. May just be passing through, but the timing is interesting for sure.

I honestly don't believe Goodell's visit came with a plan for anything specific regarding the Panthers.

I do wonder if he might have thought something along the lines of "you know, while I'm in town..."

A visit to discuss a few things with Jerry Richardson wouldn't exactly be farfetched.

He might have already, or he might not feel the need to since he's already seen what an NFL operation looks like from the inside.

The question that keeps coming up with Tepper is how bad does he want it.

Navarro seems to want it pretty bad

It seems Navarro is a rich mofo with the ability to buy the team outright. The other owners would like that.

Pure speculation, but Navarro made his riches through a debt collection company. Maybe he'll bring a "by any means necessary" mindset that this team has never had up top.

Navarro seems to be going all out. I’m sure the league loves Tepper, but Navarro is a Carolinian, and Richardson is surely looking for someone committed to the Carolinas. I would be happy with either.

The league favoring Tepper is a big deal, definitely not something easy to overcome.

Having the backing of the Rooneys (which I fully expect Tepper to have) is a factor too. And the Rooneys have Jerry Richardson's ear. They can tell him "You want to be like us? Pick this guy."

Navarro of course has the regional aspect, and that's a pretty big deal as well. I have to imagine that a big part of his selling point to Jerry Richardson is "I'm from here".

also Navarro kinda looks like Willem Dafoe, so count me on board

BOA will become Oscorp Stadium and the color scheme will start to favor green.

If Cam Newton starts having conversations with a mirror, yikes.

At this point I think Jerry more than anything else wants to save his legacy in these parts. What better way than to sell to a guy that in all likelihood would never think of moving the team.
