A theory on the team sale (that you may not like)

It's a topic of interest for me. All I'm really doing is sharing what I find and adding my own thoughts.

In this particular case, I'm not real happy about it.

Me either. This sounds too much like the old boy network controlling who gets to join the club.

The NFL desperately needs new blood. In the owner's suites, in the head coaching ranks, etc.

Could easily see this being the case, sadly.

Not to mention, a local guy like Sabates could even just be in it for wanting a piece of the new stadium, any land he may own, different ways to make a buck, etc. Add in the ego factor of Navarro not returning his calls and yeah, wouldn't surprise me if everyone is working against Navarro.  Sucks, because I was leaning towards wanting him.

As for the partnership, don't think we have to worry about the Canadian guy much at all (though it will be a scare factor used if Charlotte balks at ponying up money for the Carowinds stadium).  But hopefully Tepper winds up being a good owner, since it seems the league is going to get him one way or the other.

Somebody give Navarro James Goodnight's phone number.

I don't generally find all that much overlap between what the league wants and what I want.

This is no exception.

To be clear, I don't necessarily hate the idea of Tepper. I just don't like it as much as I like the idea of Navarro.

Definitely not a fan of seeing a guy who wants to own the Panthers as badly as he seems to getting screwed over.

I have only heard it's Navarro and my personal speculation is the NFL doesn't like it. Why else would the announcement be taking so long.

So much money and egos this kind of thing needs to happen sooner rather than later or I worry it'll bleed into the season if not. Plus the longer everyone "negotiates" the higher chance some high ego guy(JR) gets his feelings hurt and decides to wait even longer.

The amount of clueless ridiculous speculation regarding the sale is getting completely out of hand.

This is not all speculation.

Sabates specifically stated that he was trying to arrange for two bidders to go together on one bid. Whether he'll be successful on that is unknown, but he's making the attempt.

Who the two would be is speculation, but think about it logically. Why would the guy who already has the highest bid go in with someone else? Not to mention the whole "wouldn't return my calls" thing.

If you have an alternate theory on who Felix is trying to join, feel free to state it.

Theory has been that Richardson is trying to bleed more money out of the deal already.

And yeah, it's plausible.

I don’t take anything Sabates says seriously and neither should you.

I'm not a fan of Sabates, but that doesn't mean I can assume everything he says is a lie.

Kestenbaum confirmed having met with him.
