Panthers sale "not living up to the hype"

Reading WAY into things here about Tepper, but...

  • He has the balls to stare down the NFL (or just JR) and not budge (not shocking with some of the anecdotes about him)
  • He's smart, and knew that he would win due to his cash...and didn't up his bid because of it
  • Shrewd business man is probably also going to want a GM and coach with balls....goodbye, current staff.
  • Here's to seeing a Panther logo at midfield and the new guy being more Bob Kraft, less Jerry Richardson.

The next Collective Bargaining negotiations are going to be hard core with Tepper at the helm...and don't think his genius in negotiating didn't play a part in why the league desperately wanted him in the fold.  I have little doubt he will be on the front lines in negotiations with the players.

Tepper is really already part of the club, for all intents and purposes. He is a made man due to his connections in the league and has the financial strength to bend the NFL in his favor in regards to the team he picked to call his own. This seems to me like the epitome of the tail wagging the dog. It could be a good thing, or not.

I'm not getting all up in arms because I can't do poo about it anyway. He can't be worse than Mister, and will likely be better (coming from an organization as conservative yet progressive as the Steelers). It's just disappointing in the sense that this was one of those poignant moments where the league could have made a statement by infusing some new blood befitting of modern, progressive thinking in terms of gender and racial equality in light of the allegations.

But, alas, Tepper's coronation is just par for the course---a symbol that the good ol' boys network is alive and well. I mean, here is a guy literally known for putting brass balls on display, and slinging around breast implants in his office---a literal good old' boys club---near void of women. It's just not funny to me, or befitting of a man of age and wisdom. But, that's the way the world works in many respects, and especially the world of the NFL to a large degree.

Well for the team and fans hopefully it is over this week and a fresh start gets the stench out of BofA caused by Mister and along with it  goes all his minions that allowed that stench to continue.  Things like this require someone to do the act and others to cover it up.

There are worse teams to mimic than the Steelers.  through 6 decades, , they have been relevant with only three coaches.  The Panthers have had 4 in 20 plus years.

As for the price set for the NFL billionaires club, don’t care

I do care if prices rise on season tickets and my ability to sale the PSLs   if I can no longer afford them so hopefully a firm answer on the stadium comes soon also.

I'm obviously very disappointed.  I do want you guys to know in some of the earlier threads about ownership that Mr. Scot started I quoted a source that I met here in Charleston.  He was a legit source, it just didn't go as planned.  I do remember he told me that "no news is good news"....but we've heard news unfortunately.  Just want the board to know that I feel sort of bad about the sale not going as planned to Navarro and I apologize if it appears that I gave false information to the Huddle.

No your source wasn't a source basically and you were wrong. Probably made the whole damn thing up. If the NFL decides they want somebody somewhere it's going to happen. So the league will look at us for relocation if a city happens to have a new stadium offer in the next 15 years.

Richardson has always tried to mimic the Steelers. While most fans in the Carolinas are fuging Steelers fans anyways.
