Because I don't think the Panthers will ask.

I'd be thrilled if they did.

I was asking why you would want him to be team president?  Team president and GM are two different jobs.  Is there any reason to think that Ozzy would be good at marketing, accounting, running stadium maintenance, etc...?  Or that he would even want the job if he were in the market for a new position?

That's team president under Richardson. Other teams often have their presidents presiding over football operations (Polian with the Colts, for example).

NFL titles and job descriptions are very flexible. I'm not sure any two front offices look alike.

Ozzie IMO is overhyped.  You would think he had spent the last decade in New England.

Not saying he is a schmuck and I wouldn’t like him but I don’t get the talk sometimes on him

The GM has virtually the same job on about every team.  A few teams have the team president under a different name such as CEO or perhaps director of operations.  The Steelers have the owner and and team president as the same person, and the GM is a team vice president.    I don't see us making the GM and President the same job.

Not what I suggested.

Newsome isn't in anything for a long haul at this point. But as a guy to help out with the transition of the operation to a new structure, he'd be great.

Basically, an empowered consultant.
