Panthers trade for Chiefs DT Tank Tyler

Fox is a dumbass..

I like Tank Tyler a lot but right now our problem isn't really the defense. Even so...I think that Tank is coming in as the best DT that we now have on the team (which isn't really saying much).

Pretty sure this seals the deal that Pep is going nowhere. Because if he was then we just wasted a draft pick on a player that isn't going to be good without Pep.

We still need a better Defense and plus it's easier to bolster up the D than to find a QB in midseason to make us better

I like the initiative, but we gotta get better at WR and QB. Damn how hard is it to find another WR or a decent QB.

Most teams aren't just going to dump a good player in the middle of the season. The Chiefs and Raiders are having fire sales, but that's about it.

I think they got his weight wrong. Unless he lost weight in the off season he weighs 6'2, 323 lbs. I like the Trade because it gives us more depth at DT and another DT who can stop the run. I can see Tank and Thomas used as our starting DT's. I love Damione Lewis but I don't see him as a starter. He's at his best when he can come in on passing situations.

The Phins got Thigpen and Jackson is still available. I am sure they would both produce better then Jake but oh well.

I just don't think you can bring a QB in in Midseason. He would have too much to learn and still would have to build a lot of chemistry with the offense. QB should happen in the offseason so he has time to learn the offense

as someone who has never heard of this player, i will now get excited and declare him the missing link

do you even watch football, or just the panthers?

This guy is a solid player and didnt have the 350+ size that KC wants for a 3-4 defense, they got a pick and we got another great interior lineman.

This is a great move by the FO for a 5th round pick.

Solid starter with experience and he is YOUNG (24)

Good for us

    • No saying he mostly sucks is saying that he doesn’t suck the minority of the time.   Like if he took 17 tests and had a couple of really good showings and a handful of pretty good scores sprinkled in among the typical sub par results.   Like a golfer who went out and shot an 89.  There will be some real nice shots sprinkled in there but at the end of the day it is still 89.
    • It's worth mentioning... Game 1: Oct 11 in Raleigh. 4-3 OT win with a complete starting lineup. Game 2: Dec 13 in Philly. 4-3 SO win without Jaccob Slavin. Game 3: Dec 14 in Raleigh. 3-2 SO win with a complete starting lineup. Game 4: Apr 13 in Philly. 3-2 SO loss with the AHL roster.  Those early season games were no indication of the Canes team that finished the season. Miller and Ehlers were still trying to figure things out, Nikishin was still a work in progress and the Stankoven line was just another line. Make no mistake, the Canes team Philly will see is nothing close to what they saw at any point in the season. If the top line starts producing, Freddie stays hot and the blue line does what it does, this could be a sweep as well.
