Blame the special teams

When you look at it, the special teams is by far the biggest problem we face. What can be done to sort it out?

Run a more effective offense that gets first downs and completes passes is a start. I think special teams has been so terrible because our QB has the worst 3rd down conversion rating in the league. It's pretty pathetic that we have to punt as much as we have this season even against the sorry teams. THe other thing to do is work on not allowing returns, I thought thats why we kept Llyod in the first place.

oh I see. The special teamers are Jakes fault too. Probably why the defense has stunk it up at times too. too tired to play. Blame Jake.

Don't get me wrong, the Special teams is not up to par this year but that's why we have to stop punting so much. Kickoff's should be easy, just put the damn thing in the endzone. Punts just need to be cut back but as long as we are 3 and outing 70 percent of our drives its kind of hard to do that.

actually, the offense has made the defense look worse than they are this season. Defense has given up fairly little overall to opponents.....the offense is giftwrapping points for opponents with the absurd amount of turnovers giving the ball in scoring position or returning it for scores.

Have the players go man-to-man because I'm seeing whole walls of Panthers go down or get blocked by only a couple of guys; on both teams kicking AND receiving. That way everyone can see what's going on. It's quite clear that the "wall" of tacklers and the "wall" of blockers just ain't woikin'.

LMAO Someone is actually blaming Jake for our problems on STs.

Our return yards have been pretty decent if you can believe that. Our kickoff/punt coverage has been absolutely horrendous, the worst in the league. We are dead last in opponents' average kickoff return yards... average punt return yards, dead last... see HERE.

Crossman needs to be shown the door. After that, hire the best guy you can get and let him fix this mess.

DING! DING!! DING!!

We have a Winner!!!

Close thread to avoid more people making an ass of themselves blaming special teams on the offense or defense.

    • First, am I wrong? I looked back over all his posts here and I didn't see anything positive other than Shough. Second, pretty sure if you had read the post I was responding to, you would have seen CRA made poo personal as well . You just choose to address me instead of him. Not sure why?????
    • I wanted XL but I felt he should have been a 2nd rounder but I understand the logic trading up just to get the option. A safety net for your gamble.    Certainly disappointed with his receivers development but i like his down field blocking and I imagine that's what's keeping him on the field.
    • Pretty sure it is a given Young lacks typical QB size and strength and he is here simply because his other attributes more than make up for it. My point is not to indicate anyone "settled" for him but rather to remind people that there have been plenty of big, strong QB's that have not lived up to expectations. Jamis Winston, Anthony Richardson, Trey Lance, JaMarcus Russel are a few examples. They all have the physical attributes coveted by teams and yet none have had sustained success in the NFL. And yes, there are QBs that do have both but there aren't many and some of the ones still playing were failures with their early teams. Saying Young is a bust simply based upon his size (and I do think it is as simple as that for a few guys around here) is unfair to both him and the team.
