Kalil dealing with knee injury

It's what happens when you don't retain players like Norwell and sign players like Kalil.

Also when you have trash drafts over the years and never address weaknesses. I'd also rather re-signing Norwell instead of signing Poe. I think Moton will be an improvement over Kalil.  Can't get worse:

You do realize Moton and Norwell per say came from the draft right? Also Norwell got paid way more than Poe who actually improved our team.

I think what makes this whole situation harder to take is that Matt didn't go down in a game or in practice.  (Not that I wish brutal contact injuries on any guy...) Somehow this would be easier if we'd all seen him get injured.

But now there's this whole mysterious side of it. Matt seemed healthy. Played like crap, THEN we hear of some "knee injury"

It makes it hard to trust or root for Matt.  There isn't any of the sympathy or solidarity we'd have if we all saw him go down injured.

He's a Panther. I want to root for the guy. I want him to thrive on and off the field. But right now I'm finding it hard not to be angry and suspicious and feeling like he's just taking advantage of the team.

    • After last season, it was the same question. And the answer most people came to was "If he doesn't make the playoffs, he's gone." He made the playoffs. No matter how it was done, we made it to the playoffs. He's safe. He's going to have a chance to keep working this out, even if next season isn't a playoff one.  I think we'll do better next year than we did this season. There's something being built here.
    • The NBA is a very fickle league. Kon is one of the hottest rookies in years and beyond just his play on the court he is a very steady competitor and that translates to the rest of the team. That has been a glaring absence with the culture of this franchise through the bulk of the LaMelo Ball years that's just being completely blunt and realistic. The enigma of LaMelo Ball is he is entering year 6 and still either red hot or ice cold. We need him to find that sweet spot. Logic dictates the Hornets will want to see this core again next year. But the clock is beyond ticking at this point. It's put up or shut up. Especially considering what the Thunder managed to do recently. I'm hopeful they can keep these wins rolling in and get some much needed playoff experience under their belts which will help substantially.
    • I think as long as the Panthers are competitive with Canales they should keep him. Pepper needs to repair his/the teams image as a place prized free agents aren't hesitant to consider. Just dont do any crazy poo for a few years.
