Official Panthers/Bills Free Tailgate Thread

The Buffalo Bills come to town for a 4 pm game that gives the Panthers a chance to get to .500. This week's tailgate is sponsored by all your friends at carolinahuddle.com. Thanks to everyone that visits the site and helps make this the largest independent Carolina Panthers fan website.

You all know the drill by now. We line up sponsors who donate their time and money to provide you all with free food. When you come through the line to eat and drink, you donate as much as you can in the bucket. At the end of the year we take all the money and buy brand new bikes and give them to the Marine Corps Reserve toy drive outside the stadium, this year on Dec. 20th. 100% of the money donated goes to this cause, no overhead. To date we have raised over $15,000 and given over 500 new bikes to the Panthers Marine Corps Reserve Toy Drive at the stadium.

The food this week is prepared by Ranuccis Big Butt BBQ (www.ranuccis.com). Alex Ranucci is an award winning BBQ professional who has earned a spot to contend for the BBQ National Championship in Memphis, TN in May of 2010. No matter what the Panthers record is, the food alone this week is worth the trip downtown. The menu this week will consist of his award winning pulled pork BBQ, ribs, lots of wings, BBQ sauce, beans, cole slaw, chips, buns, pickles, buffalo turds, and various other dishes and desserts.

Here's the rest of the details:

1. Where? Our Free Huddle Tailgate is at a parking lot that borders Church St, Poplar, and 3rd St. downtown. The lot is right across the street from Picassos's downtown. Specifically in that lot our tailgate is closest to the corner of Poplar and 3rd. right on the sidewalk. We have 3 tents and lots of Carolinahuddle.com banners to help you locate us. We are RIGHT beside the lower entrance to this lot.

2. When? This week we will start at 9 AM.

3. What will be there? Lots. We have plenty of tents for cover from sun or rain. We provide for free all the food and free drinks included: Pepsi products, Sundrops, Diet Sundrops, and waters. There will also be plenty of music and good people.

4. How much? If you park in that lot it's $30. You DO NOT HAVE TO PARK THERE TO PARTY WITH US! There are many lots a few blocks back that are MUCH cheaper, even down to $5. Take advantage of that or take the train into town for a few bucks. To tailgate please donate as much as you can til it hurts. Please be generous and consider how convenient our tailgate makes things for you and how much you save vs. going into the game and buying all this or trying to do it yourself.

5. Who is there? Most of the people there are people on this website and their friends and family. All of us were new at one time or another. Please don't be shy if you've never been here before. We make friends easily. We give our food and non-alcoholic drinks away for free to ALL, even opposing fans are welcome.

6. Is this tailgate kid friendly? We do not police adult behavior before football games. We do not take responsibility for what kids may see or hear during the tailgate. Generally most adults mind their manners around them, but you never know what they may be exposed to during their time there so use your own judgment. There probably will be loud music but for the most part the kids like it more than the adults.

Most important please bring your own drinks if you want alcohol. The Official Huddle Tailgate does not in any fashion provide alcohol as part of its tailgate. We do not accept responsibility for anyone's actions as a result of what they consume at a tailgate

Id like to say Ill go to the game and maybe that tailgate but would honestly feel weird since ive only been to one game and have never been tailgaiting.

Well, Azteca ... come on down to 3rd & Poplar by say 11:00 AM. It's OK to feel weird but don't let THAT keep you away. This tailgate is a collection of people most of whom never knew each other before they came the first time. Food is great and the people are even better !!! Just ask for Livermush or Cooter and tell 'em that BigCuz sent ya !! :sifone:

    • And its two fold from there, we knew we were going to stink next year, we knew he wasnt going to play right away and we knew the 2025 rb class was absolutely fuging loaded.  So none of it made a lick of sense
    • Here for the lively debate but don’t devolve into “you don’t know the game” stuff. ..with that PSA over, I lean more to the it was a mistake camp myself.  It wasn’t a good move. Many people reference Frazier but it is was a few guys. I thought Sainristil would have been perfect for us. Although I will say, I don’t mind taking RBs high depending on the talent. It was him being injured and his talent relative to the other RBs in his tier that makes me less than thrilled about it.
    • If you're insinuating Bryce Young is the only player people here have been critical of we don't even need to discuss any further because folks who have actually seen the threads knows that's factually incorrect. That's the issue and where the disconnect begins. You perceive an honest assessment and basic straightforward acknowledgment that while we can like the player on a personal level ultimately the pick was a mistake given what we know now and the other prospects that were available. None of that is the personal slight you perceive it to be. Honest discussion is not doom and gloom. If someone wants to reject the reality is front of them that is certainly their prerogative. What I'm trying to tell you is you are never going to find the dialogue you seek as long as this is your basis for the framework of discussion about our team. I'm not asking you to leave. I do believe you bring legitimate value here. I'm simply offering you an alternative if you insist on rolling out this same approach when the season rolls out. Because although optimism is high right now sooner or later we might hit a bump in the road. And conversations will likely get the opposite of glowing positivity. But that's alright. That's the rollercoaster of sports fandom. We'll survive.
