Byrd, Frazier, Barner and Artis-Payne

Rodrigue's final roster prediction includes Artis-Payne and no one else out of this bunch.

Her argument against keeping Byrd or Frazier is that with McCaffrey and Olsen still expected to be Newton's top targets, it makes more sense to use the depth elsewhere.

(it's a valid point)

It's a valid point strictly thinking of Byrd as a receiver, but if we cut both Byrd & Barner (which she has us doing), who is our return man?  Hopefully it wouldn't be Samuel or McCaffrey, they are way too important on offense (especially McCaffrey) to risk that kind of injury.

Probably Samuel or D J Moore.

Byrd and CAP - Barner is cut and I'd be shocked if this didn't occur based on RR talk about CAP.

Yeah this is the safest answer. It was really CAP's to lose but he did what he had to in the last pre-season game. Barner did impress me, I wish we could keep him but I don't think we'll be able to.

I was hoping for Byrd, Barner, CAP to all make roster initially, thinking Manhertz might start season on PUP.

With Manhertz presumably TE3, that's one less space. I'd say cut CAP. Barner has value as scatback and in returns.

Frazier I would try to PS, but he may get claimed.

What the team WILL do? I'm clueless.

Afraid they'll cut Byrd & Barner and keep CAP and Frazier. Sigh...

Byrd will make it over Mose, but Mose will find a job.  He played great this preseason, but Byrd has proven it, albeit briefly, in limited action on an active 53 already and Ron favors the familiar...  he also has return/ST ability, which is priority for the bottom of the depth chart.

Barner shouod make it over CAP walking away, but again, Ron prefers his vets and guys that have put in time with him...  so, I expect CAP makes it over Barner, although he shouldn't and I think we've seen his ceiling.

Side Note: This is a good time of year to check the social media accounts of players on the bubble.  Sometimes they announce something themselves before anyone else does.

In case this helps:
