Fisher wears a Colts jersey "to feel like a winner"

The Titans and Colts are division rivals, so this would indeed be the equivalent of John Fox putting on a Saints or Falcons jersey "to look like a winner".

If the Panthers were 0-6 at this point in the season after starting 10-0 and finishing 13-3 last season, I would hope that Fox would have the balls to do something like that... mind you, he doesn't and wouldn't, but if the Titans aren't embarrassed already after this start, then maybe seeing their coach rub their noses in it will help. To steal the premise of a line from Fast & Furious, "Suck it up. This ain't the boy scouts."

To steal the premise of a discussion from Colin Cowherd, "Being the head coach isn't about the X's and O's. It's about motivating your players."

I'm sure there are quite a few people on here that disagree with Fisher doing this. Me, personally, I love it. Keep your candy ass kid gloves. I'll take the tough love approach every time.

I'd love to see Zorn wear a Giants jersey and say that.

Which brings up a salient point.

To get away with something like this, you'd have to have some clout as a head coach. Zorn would be crucified because he's never accomplished anything as a head coach that would give him enough respectability to pull off such a stunt.

And yeah, personality matters too. This isn't the kind of thing I could ever see Fox pulling. Given Fox's usual MO, I seriously doubt this would work for him.

But what about Fisher?

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
