lol this cap mess is DG

it's actually not a mess because the majority of the team is off of the books next year. We will have a lot of spending room next year. Close to 40 million when it is all said and done.

According to overthecap we have 1.7mil in cap space right now... not 250k.

That’s because everyone was wrong about his contract at first. And if it was posted as such, where is it. You expect a random statement from Jeremy to trump what is actually on the contract. The numbers changed because the option got exercised. Something that we HAD to do.

I made multiple posts about this scenario back when he signed. I can easily post them. Everyone ignored that Option bonus and told me I was crazy all year when I said we were screwed. Can show many of those as well. Sportrac didn’t account for it so everyone assumed it wasn’t there. When I said that they were wrong, again I was trashed. But guess what happened. Exactly what I said would.

Where is/was this “clause” and how did what Hurney did affect somethat never existed.

Earlier you told me his contract wasn’t restricted a quick search proved otherwise. Now you want me to dig something else up for you, go get your own damn shovel, I ain’t got all day to do the next bit of digging for you.

There is still a post june 1 out. Not sure why we think there isn't. We save 8 million if we cut post 6/1 and have about 5 million in dead money.

Where did I mention the word “restricted”? Or anything of the kind. You claimed there was a “kill clause”. I said there wasn’t. And never was one. You’ve called me wrong yet your basis is remembering a post from Jeremy, 18 months ago.

You can’t dig for what isn’t there. You were wrong. On Everything. And proven so with facts. Yet you claim you have proven something with nothing but memories of someone who has been proven wrong in every statement he’s made in this thread.

Our cap this year includes almost 10 million in dead cap space including Coleman, Shepard and Stewart. Then add the 17 million on IR players where 13 million are Gettleman's choices and yeah he left us in a mess when he left for players who were not good.

You and define "a cap mess" differently. Gettleman handing out bad contracts would be a mess to me.

Hurney elected to cut those players, therefore he acknowledge the cap hit as the GM. The injured players are not DG's fault. In my eyes, we are not in a mess.

However, you and I have different opinions about this, and we do not need to have a back and forth about it. I respect your opinion, I just dont agree.

But that means the cap hit next year only includes what we save in 2019. What about the dead cap hit in 2020.

So you think the contracts to Kalil and Shepard werent bad? Hurney cut Shepard because he was a total waste. He makes Smith look like a great signing. And yeah if you have a player like Kalil who was injured before and you give him a huge contract and he can't stay healthy DG gets the blame. All Hurney did was clean up some of Gettleman's mess.

2013-18.6M

2014- 27M

2015-15M(and a 20M cap hit for CJ)

He sure didn’t leave a worse mess than he inherited.
