i really meant that more for the richardson era. i dont think tepper is going to accept this.

I'm completely up in the air about what's going to happen with Tepper.

On the one hand, he has a reputation for not putting up with mediocrity. On the other, he comes from the Steelers philosophy of "be patient", so who can say?

The Rooneys were said to have given good recommendations to our existing leadership, but it's worth remembering that the Rooneys are also really good friends with Jerry Richardson.

I'm leaning more and more toward hoping that he just cleans house and starts fresh, but there's no way of knowing whether he'll be inclined to do that and/or whether our final season result will push him in that direction.

This is why I dont see Rivera going anywhere

Tepper like thats Steeler build with not many coaching changes, wouod take a Lot to fire

Hurney on the other hand was brought initially in as a stop gap after Jerry's beef with Gettleman.  Im sure Tepper sees the history where Hurney was ran out after becoming the league worst GM and in since he's been back as a stop gap he hasnt set fire. He is easily expendable and could easily see Tepper bring his guy in there and overhaul some of the scouting dept

When Rivera said we'd reconvene on Tuesday... I was pissed. After an ass kicking like that, we should have been back in Charlotte and trying to get a head start on Detroit on Friday

That is just the players, you can be damn sure the coaches were working all weekend.

The same team that felt Amini Silatolu was a better starter than Greg Van Roten this year and Andrew Norwell previously?

The team that went into the preseason prepared to start Kevon Seymour at corner?

The team that currently thinks Chris Manhertz is a better number two tight end than Ian Thomas?

The team who is now saying that they need to "take an honest look" at Cameron Artis-Payne and found it necessary to release someone to do that rather than just elevating him up the depth chart?

This is the team whose judgement I should trust?

Anderson has a proven track record in the league. Artis-Payne still "needs a look" but we're going to release a proven player anyway.

This is an absolutely stupid decision.

The team that had CAP behind ineffective Anderson.

Somebody wanna let Ron know that you're allowed to "take a look" at another player on the depth chart without releasing the guy in front of him?

If they played CAP instead of CJ, and CJ was healthy, how do you think that would have gone over? If CJ was frustrated with how things were going before, that would be 10 fold if that happened. It would just be asking for him to become a distraction.

They're under contract. It's not the team's job to make them happy. It's their job to win football games.

Are we going to set a precedent of letting quality guys go because they're unhappy being backups?

I just don't understand why it matters? He has not been playing any way. Everyone was screaming for CAP to get more playing time, so let him have those 2.7 snaps per game, gain 10 yards and move on. There would be no difference other than the name on the back of the jersey.

Anderson wasn't ineffective. When he played, he was quite effective.

The fact that they never played him says more about the coaching staff than it does about Anderson.

So you think Anderson would have been more effective than CMC? You are advocating taking snaps away from our most dynamic weapon other than Cam?

I'm saying CJ Anderson is better than Cameron Artis-Payne, and definitely a better fallback if something happens to McCaffrey.

Tyler Larsen isn't as good as Ryan Kalil, and Kalil hasn't missed a game...yet. Should we let Larsen go?

You're referring to the last few games where he was barely even used?

Yeah. Good strategy.

Remind me. What stats did Cameron Artis-Payne put up the last 5 games?
