I think they mailed it in after the Steelers.

Also, teams watched that tape and know to go after the corners with chunk plays,..

It is demoralizing to have a 10 play drive, control the clock and have it go your way only to give up a 2 minute touchdown on 2-3 chunk plays. Whole defenses were created since the 70s with the focus on stopping the run and limiting big passing plays— that’s been a failure.

Yeah you’re right. Taking the weekend off after losing by 32 or whatever was a risk Rivera probably should regret but doesn’t.

Man it sucks that we’re 10-11 months from winning another game.

hahahahahahahaha funniest thing I’ve read in a while. Hilarious stuff, man.

If you were here in 2010 you know what losing the locker room looks like.  I saw the players working until the end.  You clearly have an anti-Rivera bias which renders your opinions and comments the same as asking Fox News to be objective about Obama.

I’ve been here since 2009. I was a Rivera supporter for a long time, actually. Until mid-2016. Players mailed it in, man. You don’t try and still go 0-8 when five of those games are against losing teams.

You clearly have no clue or perspective. In 2010 we had a lame duck coach, we dumped our veterans for rookies in anticipation of a strike, were coming off of a non winning season, got rid of Delhomme who was ineffective but well liked for a rookie quarterback who sucked and couldn't mount a comeback if his life depended on it. There was open discord in the locker room. Compared to this scenario the differences are striking. Just because you say it over and over doesn't make it true. Glad Tepper knows about football and won't make a knee jerk reaction like you and others who see what is happening but have little clue what is actually going on.

On the flip side of the coin, your pro-Rivera bias renders you unable to accept that he’s the foundation for this team’s failures — in particular, our sub-33% win percentage in division games over the last three seasons. Opposing coaches figured out Rivera and he failed to adjust in a manner that would increase our number of victories. Therefore, he’s gonna get fired. And rightfully so, because no matter what posturing you may have, most players on the team quit. They aren’t held accountable for their mistakes. There is no sense of cohesion, because if there were, guys would band together and not lose eight straight games.

Since 1/3 to 1/2 of the people on here don't have jobs, here's how the real world works-

If you don't do your job because you want your boss to get fired, the person that gets fired is the one who doesn't do their job.

I would be fine if Rivera is gone. There are things about him that I don't like and think there are better guys out there. Having been a fan and PSL owner for 25 years I have seen lots of ups and downs.

For what it is worth, winning or losing has nothing to do with whether the players are trying or not. If we were getting blown out every game and players and coaches were sniping each other in the media then the locker room may be impacted. That isn't happening. I love how you act as if you were in the locker room. The players are playing hard just like earlier in the year. The results are just different most notably Cam is injured and playing at 75% efficiency. Unfortunately the defense hasn't helped at all. A bad combination.

i'll finish out the season, but if rivera is retained i won't be wasting my time watching this team next year.  i think that goes for more long time fans than some of y'all realize.  rivera sucks.  folks may not want to admit it, but '15 was a piss poor year for then nfl.   we weren't that good.  that team wouldn't get out of the divisional round this year.

Good. You and all the other fair weather fans are welcome to leave. When we turn things around next year you can come slinking back and pretend you were a fan all along.

awwwww.   did that hurt your feelings.  you want to keep a shite coach to stick it to some fair weather fans.    there's nobody that can call me a fair weather fan.    but when it's raining poop i know to get under a roof.   i also know i've already seen more sunday's in my life than i have left yet to see.  i won't waste them on hopeless shite.  that's what ron is.  that's what he's always been.  you go whack it to him in your bathroom all you want and tell yourself you're a real fan. a real fan that doesn't want what's best for this team.   not me bro.  screw ron.

Insanity, doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different response.

Stay put Tepper, you'll regret it, maybe not now, maybe not tomorrow, but  five years from now when we've only had 2 winning seasons and 2 playoff knock outs, you'll finally understand that we've already seen peak RR.

    • The Seahawks won an emotional, divisional, overtime rivalry game vs the Rams on a Thursday night (Dec 18).  That gives them 10 days to prepare for the Panthers, but the Christmas holiday fell a week later--I bet they were afforded an extra day for travel-many coming back east.  Following the Panthers, Seattle plays at San Francisco for the division title (in all probability).   The Rams finish the season with games against the Falcons and Cardinals, two likely wins, pushing them to 13-4.  The Niners finish the season with home games against the Bears and Seahawks. Seattle finishes the season with the Panthers on the road and SF in California.   It is easy to see how preparing for the Panthers, during the holiday break and with the Niners waiting for them in SF a week later for (what could be) the NFC West title and #1 Seed in the NFC, could create the perfect trap game scenario.  The Panthers at home are 5-2.   In the past 2 weeks, the Seahawks struggled to beat the Phillip Rivers Colts in Seattle and then pulled off a miraculous, emotional victory at home vs. the Rams.  I am not convinced that they are as good as advertised. Seattle is a TD favorite in Charlotte.  I feel that Carolina by 3 may be more accurate.  While I am still not confident in this team's consistency and it never seems to dominate, it sure feels like a trap game for Seattle to me.  How could they NOT be thinking of San Francisco right now?  They are not used to being in this position (current players) and it is human nature.  Carolina 27, Seattle 24.
    • It is a tough decision.  There is another factor.  Is he in game shape?  A tired Hunt is not better than an "in-shape" Corbett.  When coming off an injury, it is natural to want to protect the injured area, even if it is completely healed.  This can cause you to contort your body for no reason, lose fundamentals, and it could lead to other injuries.  For example, I had a knee in high school that required getting taped.  That made me aware of the knee (not used to tape on my knee) and I pulled my groin (favoring or dragging the leg with the tape).  The trainer explained the groin injury the way I do here--but scared money makes no money.  If he is cleared to play, he is cleared to play.  Watch him, rotate him in for a series, etc.  Specifically, I would want to watch the matchup--who is winning more--Corbett or Hunt?  How is the defense reacting (if at all) to Hunt being in?  Etc.
    • Shannon was sued for $50 million (settled out of court, I believe) for forcing sex on his girlfriend during a two-year relationship.  He denies it, but ESPN let him go last April.  Chad Johnson's wife filed a police report because he head-butted her in a car and was put on probation. I had to google it.  I watched the Ray Rice video and when you see it, you realize just how vile and cowardly abusing a woman really is.  But for the same point Aussie tried to make, these women are defenseless, and being phyiscally bigger and stronger does not validate your actions.   I can't even stand to watch Steve Smith.  I can't normalize this kind of behavior--again, I do not think R-P had that in mind when he posted this.  When the reason was exposed, we should realize that we are talking life (quality of) and death (in some cases) here.
