Rivera shouldn’t be fired. Cam should be.

1. Newton isn't Superman. He's very human, and 2. also very injured.

You can debate the why, the how and the wherefore if you want to. It doesn't really matter.

3. The bottom line is we thought the problem was fixed and it isn't. If he has another offseason surgery, what guarantee is there that fixes it?

So bottom line, I absolutely agree that the organization should do everything it can to try and help Newton recover.

4. I also believe that we should make contingency plans in case he doesn't.

1. Never said he was

2. Obvious

3. who is "we" and what was the time frame? is there a universal range of recovery?

4. Agree.

And this is an absolutely logical idea.

Cam is by no means done, but he has absolutely been used as a pawn by a failing coaching staff.

Help your franchise qb recover fully, groom a competent backup/potential heir

Not at all what I said. Although I see why that might be what it comes off as.

Cam played badly, no doubt. But who decides what to put on that field every week.

Our qb is obviously injured, and it has become almost a common occurrence.

Who decides to put an injured player, a player that still play his best despite, and takes no accountability afterwards?

I guess that would be Ron making that choice, must have zero confidence in the backup QB he elected to keep this preseason.

Stop reading poo into this.  Most fans just want to see their team win no matter who is playing.  So what is your answer Philly ?  Trot Cam out there for a couple more years until it is painfully obvious to even the most mentally challenged that this injury isn't going to get better, while the rest of the team busts their asses trying to make up for a failing shoulder ?

oh yeah, the team was absolutley busting their ass by playing dogshit defense, missing field goals, and fumbling the ball

Its been going on for a couple of years now.  It isn't getting better it is getting worse.  Cam is getting older.    Surgeries are not always successful.  It appears that this may be one that wasn't.  JMO of course but my eyes don't lie.  And neither do yours if you take off the rose colored glasses.

ridiculous. three years? he took the team to 15-1 three years ago. he took an extremely deficient team to the playoffs last year. if you have cam newton stats at the QB position and aren't winning your problem isn't the QB position.

this will be the first season in cam's history he hasn't finished strong. why shelve him?

he's not even 30. he's got another ten years if his body holds up. why not assume a simple shoulder surgery with more than five fuging months to rehab it won't be successful when the reward is so great and the risk of sticking some new guy in is so great?

cam newton makes people see crooked.

it is incredibly mind boggling

I dont think it is entirely race based, because I just dont think it ever is entirely one thing or another.

But goddamn, what are people watching?

First off I said a couple of years.  That is two.  And I never said just get rid of him.  I was probably the first to say last week to sit him and get him to the best orthopedic surgeon we can find.  But the fact remains he may be done.  Sit him for a year if necessary. Make do with Heinicke or whoever we can pick up.  Indy did it with their qb.  But we need a real back up plan if he cant come back in 2020.  That means drafting a qb or finding a  replacement journeyman to hold the fort down. This spring.  Rushing Cam back from surgery isn't going to do him or this team any favors.

Not affording him an opportunity to try and return to form next year would be kind of heartless.

Not having someone in place just in case he can't would be kind of brainless.
