So I have a co-worker who I started hanging out with. At first him and his wife and me and my wife got along fine. Now the wives are still good but me and him don't see eye to eye on a lot of things and he one of those guys that "knows" everything. He can "tell" you everything from what type of sportbike to buy to whats wrong with your marriage.

The best part is he's my boss.

But he keeps wanting to hang out and always calls me to go out to a bar or watch a game. He's an alright cat but man I don't feel like making a pissing contest I just want to chill.

So do I need to quit being a punk about it or what?

So you're tired of this guy telling you what to do... so you come here and ask us what you should do?

Mixing work with pleasure, especially when it's your boss, is always an iffy venture. Going out for post-work drinks is one thing, getting the wives and all together is a completely different one. I don't know if I can really give you any advice on this. It pretty much is what it is at this point. You've made the bed and what not. Like others have said, maybe try steering the conversation topics away from those which tend to rub you the wrong way... but tread perilously. Good luck, bro.

I thought I chimed in on this.

The cat is out of the bag nik. So what ya gotta do is wean him off of you guys. Remember how you got your kid off of the bottle/blanky?

Time leads to distance leads to freedom.

Hangout as much as you can. Then let two weeks go by and hang. Next time 3.

Just get me a Newcastle next time im in Chucktown.

    • Dude, I think I might be having Jarvy withdrawals... I ripped the sleeves off of all of my t-shirts in my sleep last night. Every bite of my Alpha-Bita cereal spelled Seth, this morning. And, I took 7 naps before lunch. I'm losing it guys! Jarvy's Jaunty Band of Jaggoffs are getting more play than he is... smh Team Canada doesn't treasure Jarvis the way he deserves. He should take his band down to Liechtenstein, get a bag of passports, and start his own Olympic team! The raw animal magnetism of Jarvilicious will bring in a handful of NHLers on its own. And, since the IOC believes in collective punishment, he could have his pick of the rookies. Then, just fill out the rest of the roster with the maple blooded great white northerners who couldn't make the top squad. Can't trust this assembled awesomery to just any old Liechtensteinien with a clipboard and a whistle. Gotta bring in a legend worthy of this gold medal gambit. A hockey HOFer with the balls to buck the system and the aura to match our maverick. Huere geil, Vaduz!!! 2030 Gold Medal guaranteed!
    • Tennessee isn't trading a QB on a 2nd round contract that has starting experience.  That's bad business.
    • OT is the top priority as it is both an immediate and future need.  I wouldn't be past trading up slightly to get the guy we want.  You need that rookie contract right now.  Icky is a dead 17.5 million for the season.  Morton is 20+ mil for the season, Hunt is 20+ mil for the season.  There needs to be forward thinking regarding the future.   Caleb Lomu is a left Tackle, he's a solid prospect, he may be the best pick for us now and in the future.  I would seriously consider cutting Hunt after 2026, and let Lomu and Icky fight for the LT job, loser moves inside.  Icky's future may be at guard after this injury anyway.  If Damien Lewis keeps up his level of play he will need to be paid sooner rather than later.  Yosh and BC can be our top two depth OL at an affordable price.  You will need to look at OT again in 2027. Getting an EDGE for the sake of getting an EDGE outside of the top 10 is pretty risky.  I wouldn't be against eyeing someone like Cashius Howell, Derrick Moore, or TJ Parker in the 2nd (even if we trade a future pick to move up) or DDS in the third. I'd love to see us try to sign both Leo Chenal and Matt Millano in FA.   Chenal for the blitzing element we are missing from our LB corps and Millano for his elite coverage.  They could both work in tandem.  Remember, our FO has deep ties to both KC and Buffalo. I love thinking about the draft, but until Free Agency hits, we are clueless.  Looking at the strength of FA and the draft, OL is priority #1, LB #2, and EDGE #3.  We know what happens to Bryce when protection falls apart.
