Its like taking your kids to get shots. You know it will hurt them in the short run but over time it will save them.

No more Dolphins avatar, eh Squirrel?

Well, I hate to see these men fail. I think they do give it their all.

Sometimes, a chance has to be taken. The Panthers, are and have been, very listless teams under Fox, and not consistent. Few are the blowouts of bad teams and few are the wins over good teams.

It is time for a change and a new start in Charlotte, that is, if Jerry Ricardson ever wants to be something more than mediocre.

8 years, in the NFL, is a lifetime for a coach.

Time for Jake to take his $20 million and go raise his horses and Fox his $10 million and enjoy his homes.

...and time for long suffering PSL holds to have 'hope'..something we rarely have had and rarely hold onto.

How do you know what Richardson would see' date=' Richardson is the one paying these players you don't think he wants them to perform at a high level. Like I said win lose or draw the stats can't lie and the tape cant lie and Jake played poor and the coaching staff made poor decisions. There have been plenty of coaches let go after winning or .500 seasons because of the assessment of the team compared to their expectations. Richardson expected the team to get to the playoffs, this year they won't usually its because of injuries but this year you can only blame it on poor QB play and poor coaching including the decision to start said QB. I really don't understand why it would be hard to evaluate that whether we win or not.[/quote']

Jake played sh*t in the Arizona game. Samething in the Philly game yet Fox calls Jake and tell him they are sticking with him no matter how much he stinks it up. Richardson couldnt fire Fox previously because Fox could hide behind the 12-4 record and before that could hide behind the Delhomme injury. Now there's nothing to hide behind at all. So yes if we won today, Richardson would probably still think he could stick with Fox and that the season could possibly turn around and Fox wouldn't even consider benching Jake next week.

He's not going to fire Fox mid season so the only assessment that matters is the one made at the end of the season. Last year there was no reason to fire Fox, other then the gameplan against Arizona Fox and the team as a whole INCLUDING Jake were very strong. Of course he stuck with him after the Eagles game, it was one game and the start of a very long season. Now its become a trend, your acting like I'm defending Jake or Fox which I'm not. Both should and will be gone at the end of the season unless DRASTIC improvement isn't made. That doesn't change the fact that it's relatively easy to make the assessment that bad QB play and poor coaching is the reason for the 2009 Panthers struggle whether we lose every remaining game or not.

we need a coach that has a fire and drive that motivates the team to be more then adequate, and has the knowledge to know when something isn't working and to be a little creative..and especially someone that knows a good player when he see's one and won't let a contract or a vet get favored over the better player..

Just a reminder . . . Jake signed a huge contract last offseason with something like $20 million guaranteed. So, the Panthers are kind of screwed. If they release Jake next year, the Panthers take a $16 million dollar cap hit either (1) for next year (which may be possible if the year is uncapped) or (2) spread over two years.

Basically, Jake's extension was the Panthers' biggest "F" up of the last decade.

Oh, I am praying that he never starts another game as a Panther. I am simply thinking of the fact that he will still be wasting a roster spot due to the idiotic extension that the team signed him to. That contract had to be signed under the assumption that next year will be uncapped, which would make the $16 million hit easily absorbed.

Man, this team is frustrating. :mad2:

In football there is no such thing as long term. You do what will bring the most success in the shortest amount of time.

You know what teams are focused on the long term? The lions, browns, and raiders.

I'd wager to say that the teams who don't throw their draft picks away and make good decisions are focused on the long term.

Focusing on the short term was this team's downfall.

Its about the improvement of the team long term. This game probably is the wake up call Richardson needed for him to realize something needs to change. Give up that "Panthers fan card" crap that you speak of.

I hate the loss. I hate the next one and the 9 after that, but it gets us closer to a new coach. Fox is burned out and Jake is done. He has lost his confidence and he won't get it back. So it is time to move on.

Pay attention, these people are making sense.

Don't give me this you're not a fan bullsh!t.
