Tepper won't speak

The Ferrari analogy is relevant because he is using crap parts, proven with history that can be quantified.

Tepper had a great start and built a lot of excitement. I do not see the strategy to get to winning and all of this legacy stuff with the current off season moves. He will be a 2nd year owner with what is looking like one losing season and a repeat incoming. Not the stuff of legend. Does he have a strategy, I sure hope so but those cards are murky to us plebes at this point.

As far as the whole shtick of him not caring about money, well I call BS. The man is motivated and successful at accumulating wealth. Good for him, not a hater because he tried real hard and succeeded. Do you know what you call a person that stops caring about and protecting their money? Broke or soon to be broke. It takes effort to keep wealth and it's big business finding ways to part those people from their wealth. I like what I have see of him as a human and as a businessman. As an owner it was very exciting at first and now very disappointing. FYI, Hurney is the Ford parts and that will not make a Ferrari, which would be the organization. Rivera is more of a tool and it all depends who's hands he is in what outcome you get with that guy.

Seriously are you an alt or a shill?

Just sit back and watch....you will be proven wrong.

In the meantime, keep in mind that this is a marathon (26.2 miles) and we aren't even to mile-marker 1 yet.

You missed your chance to invest with one of the all-time best, you will regret it.

Patience people...

Straight up question - do you think Hurney and Rivera will be here at the end of next year in their current roles?

Marty Hurney was a stop-gap emergency fix.

Marty Hurney has been a thoroughly mediocre general manager.

Marty Hurney will begin the 2019 season as GM...for the 3rd consecutive season.

You have David Tepper to thank for this.

His analogy is actually dead on.

And if you've actually read anything about Tepper, you'd know he's a guy that used to complain about how expensive it was to buy coffee filters for his office.

The analogy is 100% irrelevant.

The Carolina Panthers franchise is not a collection of Ford parts.  In fact, our great franchise is beautiful Ferrari that has never been properly maintained, has been improperly stored, and has been abused when driven.

That said, great marquises of this nature are routinely restored to pristine condition and I am betting David Tepper will do exactly this with the Carolina Panthers.

Serious question, David Tepper is worth $12 billion....do you really believe there is any single issue about which you are better informed than he is?  Maybe coffee filters?

Well, I know wealth doesn't equal intelligence, though to be fair Tepper probably knows that as well.

Apparently you don't

To be frank, if Hurney is here at the end of THIS YEAR (technically season is over but no official announcements have been made about ongoing roles for GM or Head Coach) I will be surprised and definitely disappointed.  So, with that said, I could NEVER envision a scenario where Hurney was in his current role at the end of NEXT YEAR!  All that said, if Tepper retains Hurney I'm going to have to sit back and think about where my thesis might be flawed, this because David is way smarter than me and has way better information than me (two things many of you are unwilling to come to terms with).  One thing I can assure you of, David Tepper does not suffer fools, keep that mind.

As for Rivera, all along I have believed he would be retained going into 2019, and I understand why.  As for the end of next year, I think it's a coin flip to 60-40% in favor of Ron.  Honestly, I ain't a big fan of Ron either, don't think he's particularly smart, but given he's been coaching for an incredibly inept owner the entire time I think taking a wait and see attitude is fair to all concerned parties.

Ron is under contract for the next 2 years.  If he sucks next year, fire his ass.  If he kills it next year, DO NOT EXTEND HIM...make him validate in 2020 and if he does so re-evaluate at the time.

There you go.

Fair point.   Without Cam to carry us this season all our weaknesses became exposed so maybe it is better for the long term to know what we have.   Ron is a known factor - players love him, often play hard for him  but he tends to be too soft on them and too loyal, hey it took him 3-4 games to bench Funchess and admit we got better WRs.

Your waving of the white flag has been noted for the record...

Nah.

Alts that try to make stupid arguments just for trolling bore the daylights out of me.

I'm guessing you're probably on your third or fourth identity by now.

Again, do you believe there is any single issue (literally anything) about which you are better informed than David Tepper?

If so, exactly what would it be?

Let me put it this way...

I'm giving you the benefit of a doubt by suggesting that this stupid argument you're pursuing is trolling.

If you genuinely are this stupid, I apologize.

Again, please elaborate on any single issue (or multiple if you care to) about which you think you better informed than David Tepper.

Take as much time as you like.

    • Thielen was a "dawg" like Dan Morgan likes to say. And they replaced him with puppies.  The analytics are probably saying this is more targets for younger receivers they are hoping to develop, specifically the first round pick from 2025. The eye test is going to show a very inexperienced group of WRs that are going to have some serious growing pains, for a 3rd year QB who has not yet proven to be the guy going forward.  It's crazy how in the literal first game of his NFL career, Cam Newton showed everyone he was a star QB and there was never any doubt about that. It almost didn't even matter who was around him, although he definitely had a serious lack of talent at WR for most of his career. Bryce is going into his third season and there is still a ton of doubt, and who is around him is seen as crucial for him to have success. I don't like it.
    • Everyone says AT was old and slow but the one thing he could do consistently was get separation. That takes skill and it's been a huge issue in our WR for years. And while Moore may be a great locker room guy and our WR coach may be a 12 year vet, he's not playing in the game. Vets like AT do what they do because they can see things others don't and exploit it. The DB interview I mentioned before was with Stephon Gilmore after his DPOY season. He was pulling the younger DBs aside showing them things you wouldn't even think you'd be able to tell from the way the receiver was standing.  Seeing what a DB or LB is biting on in game that can give you that half step advantage is huge and we don't have that experience in our WR group right now and I think it could end up hurting us. None of our receivers have lined up against NFL corners successfully on a regular basis. Having someone that can walk over and give you a tip to get a half yard separation can be a difference maker.
    • We only fielded about 4 NFL calibre players on that unit last year.
