That struck me as a little odd 

There's nothing terribly earth shattering out of what we've heard so far (granted the comment about the offensive line was kind of harsh) so I wonder why this format.

I don’t understand how everyone can hate on Tepper. The guy is everything we want in an owner and is doing big things for NC/ SC, the team itself with an all new practice facility, and the fans. I know almost everyone wanted Ron gone but people were comparing Tepper to JR because he decided to give Ron and extremely short leash for one more season.

I don’t know, it’s really not a big deal—any of this. He’s not breaking any news, and no reporters are for that matter. Glad he showed his face and shared a few thoughts. 

Now, make good decisions. Deeds, not words.

Panthers owner David Tepper said there were many reasons why he retained coach Ron Rivera and GM Marty Hurney after a 1-7 finish to a 7-9 season. Among them: * He believed the team was better than the final record; * The offensive line at times looked like a disaster due to injuries; * Improvement on defense once Rivera took over the play calling; and he admitted changes probably should have come earlier; * The team got older faster then anyone expected; * As Cam Newton's ‘'shoulder got worse much it was harder to win;'' * The way the team played in a 33-14 victory at New Orleans in the finale; * He believes Rivera is a good coach and Hurney has a handle on the personnel side.

I'd take issue with those last two points...
