Hornets Claim Shelvin Mack

Mack is averaging 7.9 points per game (414% shooting), 3.4 assists per game, and 1.9 rebounds per game.

The Hornets must have liked what they saw a few games ago when Mack put up 19 points (533 FG%, 600 3P%), 9 assists, 1 rebound, and 2 assists.

I’m assuming Mack is insurance for any time Tony Parker may miss during the rest of the year.

With the progress Devante has shown, I'm not sure how this signing makes any sense.

Idk the extent of his neck injury but I was hoping we would try to pick up Markieff Morris.

This really makes no sense unless Parker is more injured than we know.

I agree with rest of you and don’t see the fit unless Parker will be out longer than anticipated and even then with the All-Star break coming up we really only need to get by with Kemba and Devonte’ for two games.

My argument against the Hornets has always been that we don’t give rookies a chance. Throw them to the fire, let them get in games and see what happens. Sure Mack is better than Devonte’ right now but is he that much better that Devonte needs to be relegated back to the G-League?

Heck, Jalen Brunson is nearly averaging 20 minutes per game on a Dallas team that is better than us and Brunson was drafted exactly one spot ahead of Graham.

I don’t think Graham has shown enough to warrant a start but 15 minutes a game over these next two isn’t going to be the reason we miss the playoffs.

For the most part JB is good at getting the rookies some burn but I just don’t get this move.

agreed - if Parker doesn't play (every back-2-back) we are almost guaranteed a loss.. Yes i like what I have seen from Graham - but not enough to give him my trust to run the 2nd unit..
